Food, Fado and Fun in Lisbon

Facing the Tagus River and built on seven hills, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It offers unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.

The city is famous for its districts: the Belém's famous monuments; the Alfama's labyrinthine streets, bars and small shops; and the trendy Alcântara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are located in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in the Baixa.

Enjoy a walk in the greenery of Jardim Botânico, admire the architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery or explore Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese food. No meal is complete without some famous pastéis de nata!

Getting to the city centre is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cosy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your holiday in Lisbon.

Lison is the capital city so you get what you get. Punters Row is where our hotel was. Just walk 5/ 10 mins away for other different restaurants. Metro from airport to hotel E1.80 Taxi E25 no brainer. Save yellow metro ticket you can reload the ticket up to 4 times for daily use. for trams and buses. Also used for train to Cascise ( load fare onto ticket at station and get return) google says no return train ticket available but there is. Best to do Guru free walking tour to get good info. Would not visit again as completed all on one visit.Tram 28 ride through old town. Best to get to start at 7 in the morning.,we did and it paid off. Long queues after 10 AM. Tram 15 to Belem starts at top of Rue De Prata not the square.

Lovely old city with narrow streets, lots of hills and great buildings/monasteries/statues. One of the oldest cities in the world, cobblestone decorated streets, lots of green space, wonderful restaurants and shops. Easy to get around with buses, Bolt/walking ( although many ups and downs) Too many tourists as everyone is discovering travelling again. I am glad that we were there in April and not June. I loved just walking the streets Avenue Liberdad (sp?) Hop on Hop off buses were good, people are friendly and kind.

I was in Portugal to officiate at a wedding in Sintra.

I was in Portugal to officiate at a wedding in Sintra. Although I didn't see much of Lisboa, I was not really here as a tourist, but rather for work, a bit of vacation, and to scout out the country in order to retire there. I am 100% certain now that I want to settle in Portugal, and so I was not terribly focused on sightseeing, but rather just soaking up the vibe of the country and its people. The people in Portuguese were kind and friendly - and not just staff in the tourism industry.

April is a good time as it's not too hot and busy, but still warm and bustling to get out and have fun. Like any big city it has it's seedy sides and upmarket side. Plenty of history, culture and always something fun going on. Plenty to see and do, it would take years to see it all.

Lisbon is a place that needs 6 months, I think we just scratched the surface with our visit there. Just walking around Lisbon is like being in a real-time art gallery with all the graffiti and music artists. I love Lisbon and would have loved to stay longer, we did everything there is to do in the place, I enjoyed the Fado Music, the food, the locals the kindness, the transport system everything!

This Hotel is a small boutique gem in the 'French Quarter' of Lisbon. Consisting of about 9 individually named and decorated rooms, it met with all of our expectations, friendly, professional, eclectic, so much better than some of the bland which many more up market hotels deliver. We are regular visitors to Lisbon and have tried many Hotels including 5 star, but we will be back to TocTocToc again and again. Cosy, intimate, we left feeling we had made new friends and the owners should be proud of their wonderful staff. Thank you all

I could not have been happier with my stay. Jessica at reception and the entire staff provided exceptional service. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Without a doubt, this is a professionally run hotel and it is where will stay again when I return to Lisbon in the near future. The service was impeccable. EVERYTHING about this place was great. The other thing that I loved about this place is how close it is situated to the Lisbon's METRO system. Absolutely the best - hated to leave. A big thank you to the entire staff.

Exceptional hospitality. They think of everything including ice in the freezer, coffee machine water filled, lovely toiletries. Fantastic breakfast and yogurt, cheese and h on the fridge for a snack. Bonus: the place is decorated beautifully and the scent of the hotel is AMAZING (so amazing, I had to look up the brand but sadly they don’t ship to the USA). This is the best place I’ve ever stayed in all my travels abroad. They understand hospitality and I looked forward to returning each evening after a day out in Lisbon.

Wonderful boutique hotel in the center of Lisbon. The ladies at reception were very nice, at the breakfast as well. The room is nicely decorated, bathroom and bed clean and comfortable. The breakfast is served in their little roof top which is nice (inside and outside seating). Sufficient choice for breakfast and everything freshly prepared. The lift is a plus when traveling with large suitcase. Another plus is the little shop right next door with the best pasteis de nata and delicious sandwiches.

This hotel had everything I like: nice, stylish room, super comfy bed, up-to-date bathroom with fabulous shower and plenty of hot water, friendly and helpful staff, best gin and tonics in town at the bar, and marvelous food in the restaurant including one of the best breakfast buffets I’ve ever had. It was worth a lot more than I paid as travel isn’t quite back to normal yet. Also, convenient location to get anywhere in Lisbon. I took the train up the coast several days and it was easy.

Compared to other marinas in the area, this one is shelthered from noisy traffic, it has a lovely setting and Belem is worthwhile a visit for a few days. In close proximity to Lisbon city centre and surrounding coastal towns like Cascais, worth a visit. The boat has all the necessary to be comfortable, a bit of maintenance on a few issue will enhance the experience. The boat & Marina a great alternative form of accommodation compared to hotels, B&B etc.

5 star in every way. I was having a hard time figuring out which hotel and neighborhood to stay in in Lisbon and this hotel checked all the boxes. First of all, it's literally a mansion. There are only 6 rooms so you feel like you are at a friend's mansion. The breakfast was included and amazing. you can eat on patio or in your room. Its such an amazing hotel and staff, it was hard to leave.

Hotel was clean, and in a great location downtown and close to the airport. I had to leave earlier than the breakfast was offered, but the staff offered to pack a small breakfast for me in a bag to take with me in the morning. Marta is the best!!!

Very impressive accommodations and facilities. The beds, the room decor, the room arrangements, the bathrooms, it felt like I was staying at a really fancy AirBnB. The bathrooms are similar to what you’d get in some 5 star hotels, white, new, maintained, clean and in pristine condition. Definitely the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in.
