Hotel República Boutique Hotel, hotel in Tomar

Hotel República Boutique Hotel has a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Tomar. Each accommodation at the 5-star hotel has city views, and guests can enjoy access to a hot tub.

The hotel was comfortable as was our room and bed. It has a great location but is quite difficult to access by car. The hotel has a deal with a secure covered car park 100m away so it’s best to park there first and walk to the hotel. Take a ticket on entry to the carpark and give it to the hotel reception to endure a discount. The breakfast was good and plentiful. All the staff we met were extremely helpful and friendly.

Tomar is a very attractive medieval city, seeped in history. The Convento de Christopher towers over the city and well worth a visit. The Central Park is beautiful with its river and trees is a lovely relaxing place. Plenty of restaurants all in walkable distance of each other. Further out of town is a six kilometre aqueduct built in the time of Philip 2nd of Spain. A marvel of medieval engineer.

Tiny small place. Clean bedding. Quiet. 15 minutes walk from center. I had to call a few times to get a reply where the key is. Kitchenette, but: No kettle for tea, no kitchen towel. Onky one mug. No bath mat. Bath towels with bleach stains.

If you take the trouble to walk around Tomar, especially the old town, it is a fascinating place. It has an interesting square where the locals come out to socialise in the evening. There are a goodly number of restaurants, suitable for all budgets.

Beautiful, historical town with massive Templar Castle up the hill. That alone is worth the side trip form Lisbon or Porto. Many groups buses stop for a day but it is a rushed way to experience this place. I think two nights allows for a better immersion into its history. Castle alone takes few good hours, not counting the outdoor area. Great place to slow down and feel the old energy there. Town has plenty of coffee shops and nice eateries. Picturesque river runs right through the middle of town. Totally walkable town with quaint, clean streets with plenty places along the way to stop for a coffee, ice cream or a tasty bite. If you are there on a weekend you might get a chance to get a picture with a Templar knight!

Do not miss the aqueduct on the outskirts of town as you drive in - I've seen quite a few and the only better is the one in Segovia in Spain. This is a double decker that goes for half a mile, in terrific condition. I'm an aqueduct fan and this was worth a trip to Tomar by itself. But there's more: the Templar chapel in the monastery at the top of the hill above the Praca Republica is one of those places where, just when you are beginning to feel like you've seen enough church stuff, you go holy smokes! I've never seen anything like this! The town itself is cozy and warm, and it's worth a walk around to all the different churches and along the river. You can see everything in a day if you don't dawdle.

Nestled amidst the rolling hills of the Portuguese...

Nestled amidst the rolling hills of the Portuguese countryside, Tomar is a captivating town steeped in history and brimming with charm. Renowned for its magnificent Templar Castle and Convent, Tomar offers a captivating blend of medieval enchantment and modern-day allure. The Castelo de Tomar, or Tomar Castle, stands as a testament to the power and influence of the Knights Templar, who established their stronghold in Tomar in the 12th century. This imposing fortress, adorned with intricate carvings and architectural masterpieces, is home to the Convento de Cristo, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. The Convento de Cristo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a labyrinth of grand cloisters, chapels, and chapterhouses, each whispering tales of the Knights Templar's influence. The remarkable Cloister of Silence, with its serene atmosphere and intricate tracery, is a must-see for any visitor to Tomar.

The hotel is in a perfect location in the centre of Tomar. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The room was excellent and the beds and pillows very comfortable, The breakfast was excellent. The staff were all amazing and helpful. We also love the rooftop lounge area with a fully stocked 'Honesty Bar' We have already booked a second stay when we return to Tomar later on in the year. We have travelled extensively over our lifetime, and can honestly say that this was in the top 10 hotels we have stayed at. We can not fault it

Absolutly fantastic apartment with 2 great outdoor spaces that recieve full sun. Furniture, cooking equipment, and appliances were very good quality and the welcome package and cooking staples were top quality and extensive. Our hosts, John & Dani, made check in easy and were right there for us if we needed them, which we didn't because everything went smoothly. The laundry service was a great addition and the location of the apartment is great for walking, or driving, into Tomar.

The Thomar Boutique Hotel is nicely located at the edge of the old town. You can easily walk to all the points of interest in Tomar. The room was spacious, immaculate, and nicely decorated, and the bathroom was beyond my expectations. There was an actual bathtub in addition to the shower. I took a long and relaxing bath. There is also a deck on the second floor with a wonderful view of the Convento do Cristo. There is free public parking nearby. It was a wonderful experience.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. We arrived on motorbikes very early for check in and the hotel were so accommodating until our rooms were ready. Rooms are beautiful. Pool area is perfect in the heat. Lots of shade. Tomar is lovely. Go visit the castle up the hill. You are not allowed into the castle grounds but the monastery next door is amazing. Go check out the medieval restaurant but make sure to book. It gets very busy.

Everything. This hotel is a hidden gem in the lovely city of Tomar. Thelma was extremely kind and helpful for our much too short stay. The room was exceptional, the pool and rooftop very comfortable and the connected restaurant (Belpaço) was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Pet friendly. All rooms and fixtures were like new. Views of the city and castle are exceptional.

Clean, super close to all the sights in Tomar, and extremely comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was responsive to all messages previous to stay and was very toddler friendly—provided comfortable crib, had high chair at breakfast, etc. One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in! We regret not staying longer.

Spaceous room with a balcony, close to the city center, nice people as everywhere in Portugal, interesting seasonal fruits for breakfast. Very clean. Free public parking around, however it's tight, not easy to find a place. It's quite a good place to stay for one night if you are planning to go there just for a sleep.
