The positives were:
1. The staff at the hotel were exceptional. The receptionist was incredibly kind and always greeted us with a warm smile. The cleaning crew did an excellent job maintaining the cleanliness of the rooms.
2. The indoor pool was a great feature, and the fact that it was warm made swimming even more enjoyable. Having a hot shower nearby after swimming was a nice touch. Swimming at night was a wonderful way to relax and relieve stress.
3. The balcony provided a lovely view, adding to the overall ambiance of the stay.

Being November, it was very warm inside, so the heating and hot water were above expectations. We had breakfast included in the price and it was a la carte but more than ok for a fresh start of the day. The hosts are welcoming. The room is big, however the house needs some renovations as well as the entire area. It's pretty far from the centre, more towards the entrance of the resort.

The town is a strange mix of old and new, and the old is definitely the part worth seeing. One question we needed to answer was: how to try out the thermal waters without paying? The answer is to go to the Hotel Roman in the early morning, and bathe for free in the Cerna river just upstream from it - in the thermal springs and pools there. It's important to go early - in the tourist season at least - because it can get very crowded later, and there are not many places on the rocks to sit or dry your towel. Because it's free, there are no facilities, and no-one seems to clear up the litter. But all of that is made up for by the amazing, healing waters. We felt wonderful for 24 hours!

The place has a ton of potential but it is truly upsetting how in ruins it is, I was expecting at least Baile Tusnad level or Sovata but no, the place was a dump, it was full of stray dogs, no spring baths were functional, but the building were there but none of them renovated or even in the process of it. Also parking was expensive 1.25 EUR an hour? Are you mad? For this dump? I hope to revisit the place when the get themselves together, and renovate the place cause currently it is a dump and there is nothing worth visiting there, only if you wish to appreciate your home town more, but the city as it is, it was a dump.

As far as I'm concerned, there was nothing we can do apart from the indoor pool. No restaurants were opened through the city to have a decent meal after a long drive to get there. The hotel's restaurant served only buffet meals 3 times a day for an extra charge. Though we were not vaccinated, they've made an exception and checked us in (...they would have done anything in order not to refund for your booking)

I loved the hill walking around the town.
I loved the hill walking around the town. I also loved the history of the town but felt a little sad that so much of the grandeur had been left to decay. I know there are several places being 'spruced up' but generally it had a feeling of having seen its better days. I think, with some upkeep, tourists would flock here with the town's spas, history and hills.

The stuff, friendly and helpful and very professional! Everybody is friendly!people greats you in the street, in the bus, everywhere!
We had a very clean and bright room, with terrasse and mountain view.
The surprise was a spacial bath we took in a ...kind of barrel called "ciubăr". The pool is always welcomed, but if your heart is ok with heat and sulphur, DON'T MISS IT!!
We took the bath after 21:00 hours!
For easy traveling, ask the reception for a taxi driver. Get phone number and ask him for trips and tips around.
Very good location, close to old centre, with wonderful view to Cerna river, both from the balcony or common terrace.
Quiet street, with the upper building still in construction, but sparkling clean.
The landlords are very friendly and reccomended a new eating place nearby, Flora, which we would probably not be tempted at first glance to try, but has in fact some of the best courses of meal from the entire Herculane terraces :)
Also Dimitrios restaurant is less than a 2 minutes walk. Great views and good food.
Overall I believe there is a big progress here compared with how it was 6-7 years ago when I last stayed here . And there is still a lot of potential and room for improvement , and a lot of work to do to actually meet the requirements of a 4 stars hotel ( how it's currently graded ) . I found very polite staff and happy to go the extra mile to please the customers. The scenery is breathtaking if you can if ignore the piles of garbage surrounding the place and the tacky string of shops along the main road .
Host amazing love the fruit basket chocolate in the rooms a really nice touch they care about their guest . Worth the stay super nice speak English and Romanian .
Had cold water in refrigerator waiting for you clean 2 bathrooms one of the most comfortable beds and pillows I have had In all my stays in Romanian and hungry, Croatia ,Poland and Slovakia.
Has private parking to get off street .
Truly a 10 out of 10 apartment and host . Big rooms and nice living room tvs in bedroom and living room
The facilities were excellent. We enjoyed the swimming pool and spa, both excellent. The buffet should be served by staff, as people created a mess. We had dinner only once and we didn’t like it. But other than that we had an excellent 5 night stay.
A brilliant 3 star resort.
Good price. They have a working swimming pool. Kids playground which is very nice. Acces to the river Cerna. Spacious yard with a nice lawn, free parking. Barbecue place with everything you need, from a little firewood to tupperware. The place is very nice for family vacations!
A beautifully maintained, excellently equipped house with spacious and clean rooms. A cozy, covered terrace and a lovely, clean pool. The owners are very hospitable and helpful, they anticipated our every wish. We will definitely return here.
Friendly staff, always there to help (they gave us a room where ia would be quiet and more space when they saw us with a baby). The room, the spa facilities, the view, the restaurant and the food.
There are a lot of parking spaces.
Rooms were warm and also they let us use the kitchen. Plenty of parking space. Shop is really close. By accident we took one key with us, but sent it back via post. Interesting paintings everywhere.
The view from the balcony was beautiful.
The distance from the hotel to the historical center was perfect for a walk in the afternoon.
The lady at the reception was kind and helped us.
Sparkling clean the whole location, heated pools indoor and outdoor, great food, very nice staff and restaurant prices quite lower for the quality offered.
We'll definetly come again.
The studio apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood and easily accessible to all the amenities of Baile Herculane. I loved that the apartment was sparkling clean.
Room was ok, clean.
The have good SPA facilities, also a dedicated space for children, which is really nice.
