The lamps and artwork are great - but do not compensate for the major flaws and many smaller issues (see below). The location is great for a stopover between north and south Sweden - but it does not save enough money unless you are four persons and can tolerate a partly non-working building (see below).
TV, Internet, microwave and stove were OK. The fridge was dated but worked. The rest of the facilities was not OK.

Lovely historic hotel at the base of Högakustenbron.
I was welcomed by a friendly member of staff who gave me the option of a better room to the one I had booked.
The hotel is easy to find just off of the main road and has stunning views.
The room is a fairly decent size, relatively nice, and about average for comfort. The bed was comfortable, but maybe a little on the old side now.
There is a little desk if you want to do some work, it is also big enough to eat at.
Just outside the rooms is a really cosy reading area with a snooker table. Great for sitting with a warm drink and relaxing after a long day.
Outside, there is a sauna overlooking the river and bridge, and it creates some magical views/photo opportunities.
Breakfast was OK, there was a good number of options, and the highlight was fresh warm bread. However, I found the bacon and eggs to be luke warm, which was disappointing. The coffee and orange juice were very nice.
Overall, I would stay again, but I feel just a few small updates could make this place an unmissable stay.
A fresh coat of paint and new beds would transform this beautiful building

We spent 6 nights in August. The house is fully equipped with everything you need. The washing machine was very useful.

The house is located 10 minutes from the main road. There is a good grocery nearby.
There are many beautiful hiking tracks in the area.

Breakfasts were excellent, beautifully presented and so many options. Our host went above and beyond to look after us even taxied us to and from the High Coast Whiskey Distillery. The beds were comfortable and the accomodation was quiet. The location is beautiful and we would love to return in Summer.
