The safe sandy beach with very friendly beach facility...
The safe sandy beach with very friendly beach facility cleaning staff and attendants. Lifeguards manned the beach from 10am -18.00 pm . Toilet clean.The cafe was not open during my stay but there were several places to buy take away food in normal circumstances by the small fishing harbour (obviously frequented regularly by fishermen). 2 food cabins on the main road were open for at least part of my day but not every day. Slightly up the hill on the way to La Fayette on your left were several shops with basic produce (especially one by the catholic church). There were buses to Port of Spain about 5 times a day but the last one on Saturday is just after 15.00. The last one from Port of Spain is 17.00pm on a weekday. So almost certainly a Taxi is needed from the airport and it is along distance. (Booking .com did a good job getting a taxi driver but for my return he wanted me to book on the internet with no computer ( The Hotel Manager said), electricity or Wifi (Wifi cut out on Saturday morning). This was not possible .

Our stay itself was very pleasant, and we were particularly impressed by the hospitality of the owner Sanjaay, who went out of his way to help arrange activities in the area, as well as transport, and was overall a fantastic host. Recommend to anyone in the Maracas bay/las cuevas area.
