Willard Richards Inn, hotel in Keokuk

Set in Nauvoo, Willard Richards Inn features accommodation with air conditioning and access to a garden. This bed and breakfast offers free private parking and luggage storage space.

Lovely old, OLD building; it's the kind of place you could stay an extra night and do nothing for that day but just enjoy the place where you're staying! Enjoyed chatting with the hostess after check-in and with fellow guests at breakfast.

PRAIRIE WINDs MOTEL CARTHAGE, hotel in Keokuk

Located in Carthage, 47 km from Leslie F. Malpass Library, PRAIRIE WINDs MOTEL CARTHAGE provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

This is a true diamond in the rough. I usually stay away from these old Motel strip places, but I am sure glad we stayed here. Yes it is old. Yes it could be updated. BUT it was surprisingly comfortable and the proprietor was a gem. So helpful. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. You'll be glad you stayed here for the money and the wonderful host. It was wonderful to sit out on the bench in the cool of the morning and enjoy the green corn field across the street. SWEET little community.

The attendant woke me up in the middle of the night and demanded that he get access to the room to change the batteries in the door lock , I refused and he called the room phone of which I could hardly understand his poor English, further the sheets were dirty, only one towel and the carpet in the room was sticky generally the poorest experience that we have had in 40 years of travel and I would rate the equivalence of a hotel in a third world country.

Keokuk is a great small city to stay at...I was there for Geode Fest 2022, which the Department of Tourism hosts each year now. There is a good selection of lodging with hotels, motels, and camping facilities in and around Keokuk, and several great dining locations too. A few of the dining businesses were affected by food shortage problems during this year`s event, which seemed to bother some people. I dined 2 nights at Angellini`s Italian Restaurant on Main Street, the food there is great and the atmosphere and customer service are over the top in my humble opinion. It is extremely tough to go to dinner in the evening until about 8 pm much of the time, and reservations are a must for that, but don`t expect to be sat right away when you arrive at 8 pm, you will likely still have to wait at most places 30 to 45 minutes after you arrive. That is how busy the bigger places can and will be. The food is normally worth the wait tho.

    Beautiful Historic City.

Beautiful Historic City. Hope some residents maintain the beauty of their historic homes by fixing them to preserve and maintained their home. For the next generation to come, explore and enjoy! Thanks!

I visited Hyvee first. People were awesome there! I then went to my hotel because it had been a long day! Again, Awesome Clerk! As I travel on Business I look forward to seeing things new. Keokuk was very clean! Friendly people and Great Hospitality at Super 8. Thumbs up rating! Nice Small City. Had been in Nauvoo before that. Keokuk is very close to stay in order to visit that Historical Town

    Keokuk is my hometown.

Keokuk is my hometown. The economy here needs a boost and it’s sad to see the streets in such disrepair. A lot of history here and I think that needs to be promoted more. Open up the underground tunnels for exploration of artifacts.

We went to the Fort Worth cafe for BBQ and it wasn't busy.

We went to the Fort Worth cafe for BBQ and it wasn't busy. We sat and waited for 5 minutes then were served water and ordered BBQ sandwiches. We sat there for 45 minutes and watched people come after us and get served. Finally we just got up and left and the waitress saw us leave but said nothing. Not sure what was going on here, maybe they forgot our order or something but for them to say nothing or come check on us was odd. We werent rude or anything like that.

It would be hard to find such a comfortable clean, quiet and conveniently situated lodging at the price I paid. The breakfast was more than adequate. Bathroom was very clean with all the amenities one could ask for and the beds were comfortable and clean. Temperature was perfect for sleeping. Very fortunate to have found this place on line. Would definitely stay again if ever I return to Keokuk!

It was quite and easy to get a trailer around. The front desk lady is super duper nice! Prob the fastest book in a hotel/motel I’ve experienced. They allowed dogs as well and they had a nice area for them.

The location was about 10 minutes from Geode Fest, due to the 20,000 stop lights between the hotel and the meeting place. Free off street parking. There wasn't anything else positive about the hotel.
