we love the outdoor life and back in the UK have a touring caravan so we wanted to experience a stay on a RV camp.
Florida's Budget Inn Lake Wales offers free WiFi and complimentary parking. Lake Wales Ridge State Forest is located 18 minutes' drive away from the motel.

When checking in, Christopher was great! Very friendly and welcoming, thoughtful and kind when he realized our daughter wasn't included in the booking. He made me feel like I had come home after a long day at work, and someone had taken care of everything for us.

Lake Wales still has green pastures and natural landscapes...
Lake Wales still has green pastures and natural landscapes and was not covered in urban/suburban sprawl. We discovered Babson Park/ Ridge Audubon Nature Center with an informative nature walk about the many unique species of plants in the highlands of central Florida. We came to the area to explore this ecosystem and stumbled onto the Audubon Center next to Webber International University. The Audubon Center was closed but there were brochures to guide us through the nature walk. I plan to send money to Ridge Audubon to help them keep the center open and staffed, if possible.

Need more Hotels to accommodate travelers passing thru.
Need more Hotels to accommodate travelers passing thru. No Rooms available and 2 good area hotel hampton Inn and Holiday Inn booked. First nite there we could not find good hotel. Budget INN location not good location for travelers and anyone with children, which is in a neighborhood. Lake Wales be great place if had more luxuruos hotels besides Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn on that highway.

Great for a day at Boc Tower but nothing else to do.
Great for a day at Boc Tower but nothing else to do. We went to Manny's Chophouse ant will never go again. Steak was tasteless , the fried mushrooms were cooked in old oil, made my husband sick. Portion size is good. Best part was the salad

A good base location for exploring South Central Florida,...
A good base location for exploring South Central Florida, much of which is "Old Florida", with beautiful places to visit ( lakes, parks, gardens etc) which may not be on the usual Florida tourist itinerary. Orlando and its theme parks is not that far away, maybe 90 minutes drive, but the Lake Wales area is peaceful and has a much slower pace of life, offering great opportunities to relax.

I enjoyed my stay with regular people.
I enjoyed my stay with regular people. The only problem was all the road construction going on. It was a cluster but able to get through. I found people on the coasts to be rude and in a big hurry. Did not have that issue here. Avoid chain restaurants and eat at local.

The room was clean.
The room was clean.
The furnishings and decor were old - as in badly out of date. The bed was beyond firm. Worst is that the motel is next to the busiest road (4 lanes of 27) in Lake Wales and the noise was significant all night long.
The property was beautiful and peaceful while being conveniently located close to town. This place provides a great balance of a tranquil getaway and easy access to Lake Wales city center. The house itself was clean and spacious with comfortable beds and equipped kitchen. Check in and check out we’re seamless and Maria made sure to provide all of the needed information for the stay and was easily available to contact if neeeded.
It was a very nice little motel style of property. Rooms were very spacious and you could tell that some upgrades have been completed including the floors and the all important bathroom. The rooms (we had 3 in total) were all spotlessly clean, very comfortable, spacious and bed was super comfy.
The hotel exceeded our expectations and would stay again as it was perfect location for an event we were attending.
Room was simple but good. I would rate it higher but minutes before checking out I saw a small roach in my room near the fridge. I mentioned it to the front desk staff when turning in the hotel/room cards and all he said was he would have someone check it.
Our business made me and my wife stay at this hotel longer than we planned. The hotel is old and in need of refurbishment, but the staff tries to keep it as clean and comfortable as possible.
I was very pleased with this hotel.
It was very clean, shower was awesome, bed was great. Woke up with no pain. The only thing I would suggest would be more coffee, and Kleenex.
Well, we loved the view of the lake, and the main reason I was looking in this area was my niece lives less than a half a mile away. We actually walked to her house a few times.
Was very pleased, it is an older facility but had completely renovated and was as good if not better than a new hotel. The rooms were big, very clean and comfortable.
I paid twice as much for a room that wasn't as nice as my room at Budget Inn Lake Wales. Also, it is on a quiet street, so you are not disturbed by traffic noise.
