The staff well Management were very rude, lied to us and blamed us for a extra sheet and pillow this issue could've been resolved in a more professional way but, putting individuals with tempers and authority gives a person the power to not be wrong in a situation that was something that was so irrelevant to the situation at hand.

The Menger is a beautiful hotel situated right in the centre of San Antonio, next to the Alamo. It is a historic building with period features but with modern comforts - very different to the modern hotels used on the rest of our trip. Comfortable bed and nice furnishings in the room. Good valet staff, busy at check out time but well managed. Lovely pool with complimentary towels.

This is a very nice hotel that is past its peak. They appear to be working hard to upgrade and remodel to regain its glory. The staff was wonderful. They got us just the right room and were very helpful with arranging our sightseeing plans. This was also one of the very few hotels that gave us enough towels for our party without having to ask for more. The room was nice and had a beautiful view over the town. Although it was evident that upgrade work was happening, it was not part of the guest experience. Very good job there. We enjoyed their outdoor pool, but the fitness center was disappointing. Breakfast was different than what we have seen in other hotels. It was generally a buffet style, but the main offering was different each morning and was served to you. No need to serve yourself. Additional sides were available such as various cereals, fruit, juice, milk, yogurt, breads, coffee and tea. There were a few restaurants in walking distance, and it did not feel unsafe to do so. Plenty of other options were a short drive away on the other side of the highway.
Situated 14 km from the River Walk, this San Antonio hotel has a complimentary hot breakfast and rooms with free WiFi.

Staff were efficient and friendly. The airport shuttle was welcome although a bit hit and miss from airport to hotel. The evening "kick back" with three free dinks and an adequate supper was very welcome.

San Antonio in Texas is home to 2 of the state’s top attractions – The Alamo and the Riverwalk. One of the city’s former Spanish missions, the Alamo was the site of a deadly battle that cost folk hero Davy Crockett his life. The other remaining missions – Concepcion, San Jose, San Juan, and Espada with its aqueduct – are dotted around the city. The attractive Spanish Governor’s Palace also remains.
The San Antonio River runs right through the city, below street level. Known as the Riverwalk, its banks have been cleverly developed to house riverfront restaurants, bars and shops, and are spectacularly lit for Christmas. There are several San Antonio hotels by the Riverwalk which are also close to the Rivercenter Mall, the city’s biggest shopping centre, while La Villita artisan village offers more traditional crafts.
Across the road in Hemisfair is the Tower of the Americas, a tall observation tower with a revolving restaurant overlooking the Alamodome, a huge sports and convention venue, home to the annual Alamo Bowl collegiate football game. Booking.com offers several San Antonio hotels near the Alamodome, and more accommodation near San Antonio Airport.
On the outskirts of the city are Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The city also hosts the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, one of the country’s biggest Western events.
Definitely do the mission walk. Go down the river, on a bike if possible, and hit every mission. They are gorgeous and so is the river.
Riverwalk is okay, but very commercialized. It's not relaxing or enchanting. A little chaotic and corporate.
The art museum is excellent. Botanical garden is good too.
Food is great!
3 days will give you plenty of time to see everything.

We loved the River Walk and went almost everywhere using it.
We loved the River Walk and went almost everywhere using it. The Museum of Art is fantastic-so is the restaurant there- Tre Trattoria. The Pearl is a fun spot especially on the weekends when the outdoor vendors are there. Ladino Restaurant was our favorite meal. The river tour was fun too, and you can also catch a shuttle on the river.
There are lots of breweries. My favorite was Roadmap, and Back Unturned was good too with great pizza.

For this trip to San Antonio (eclipse day pass was booked at the Adega Vinho Winery) I primarily limited my adventures to the Rivewalk area with a haunted pub crawl and a tour of 4 Spanish Missions. The Hotel Contessa was right on the river walk path and within walking distance either down along the river, or at street level. Three nights was about right, although I should have allowed time for a dip in the rooftop heated pool.

Restaurants on RW were just ok..nothing special. Everywhere we went the wait staff was too few. I don't recommend Mia Terra at historic market.
I do recommend Guenter House and pioneer flour mills.

Well to begin with it's my hometown it's where I grew up although it's not the same as when I grew up it's growing too much it doesn't feel the same as it did but I guess progress is good but it still has that comfortable feel for me lots to do lots of good food. good weather
Pool area was nice given the location. Eating options were varied and of good quallity.
The bar staff and gentlemen working during our stay was excellent.
The location was good. The city centre was easily reached from the hotel, but The Marriot was a lot quieter than the downtown area and a lot cheaper. Plus didn't have to pay crazy valet parking rates in the city centre hotels. We were glad we had chosen to stay there for our 2 nights, rather than the hotels around the river walk.
Location! Location! Location! Right on the Riverwalk with easy access to so many things. Breakfast area looked over the Riverwalk which was an added bonus. The breakfast staff were so kind and friendly, they even provided suggestions for activities in San Antonio.
Our suite had a full fridge so we were able to keep our snacks and beverages cold. The freezer even had an icemaker - thus no walking the halls to find one. The valet was a convenient parking experience.
The staff were lovely. We were upgraded to an executive suite (I think because we arrived 20 minutes after we booked and they had run out of king beds, maybe).
The room was huge and really comfortable. I loved that I could stream to the TV and sit on a comfortable couch.
The bed was super comfortable.
The hotel is in a nice section of the riverwalk, close to La Villita. They decorated for Christmas and it was lovely.
Size of hotel, suite was excellent and very comfortable, exceptional counter space and storage, restaurant staff and food is excellent, location, clean, beautiful spot on the riverwalk and quieter area away from the hustle and bustle of more traveled areas of river, yet very accessible to get where you want to go. First time to stay here, but is now our hotel of choice in San Antonio. Will definitely be back!
The location was very good, within easy walking distance of downtown (the Riverwalk, Alamo). Breakfast was served hot with a variety of choices. I can't say enough about the staff - they were fantastic! It is a rare experience when the entire hotel team, from the maids, to the breakfast staff, to the front desk personnel are ALL so friendly and accommodating. Well done to the entire. team.
Overall a great hotel to stay in if your ever in San Antonio. We didn’t get to sleep much during our stay because a couple began fighting all night in the room beside us, we contacted the staff about the issue and they handled it perfectly, id come back again because of how great the customer service is. The hotel is also beautiful we had a great view of the riverwalk
We just loved the feel of the hotel. The music in the Colonial Room and by the pool were perfect for setting the ambiance of an old hotel. 40s music for breakfast, 50s poolside... it was just absolutely perfect. Such a peaceful place in the middle of San Antonio downtown commotion. We loved being able to walk to the Alamo, river walk, anywhere we wanted to go.
Fab location for visiting downtown San Antonio. Very close to The Alamo and to the river. Recommend walking along the river the The Pearl Brewery (about 1½ miles). The river walk is fabulous with some great bars an restaurants very close to the hotel.
Breakfast was great (except cereals, see below). Lovely mushroom & cheese omelette and plenty of bacon
If you're looking for reasonably priced, high-caliber lodging in San Antonio, the Super 8 by Wyndham San Antonio Downtown NE is a fantastic option. The rooms are spotless and exceptionally comfortable, and the staff is cordial and eager to be of service. Many of the city's best sights are within easy walking distance of the hotel.
La Cascada was very close to the centre of San Antonio without being in the centre and paying a fortune for a room. It's on the river so you could walk along the river and then into the RiverWalk where all the restaurants, bars and shops are. It's all very easy. There was a grocery store nearby and the room itself was great.
I didn’t know how special and beautiful this hotel was when I booked it. But it is a jewel on the Riverwalk. The art deco is amazing in this historic building. Everything about this hotel was amazing from evening snacks to the wonderful breakfast. I will stay again and recommend this hotel to everyone
rooms are nice and clean it is an older hotel so keep that in mind but nice upgrade to keep the charm. Bed was comfy
there is no breakfast on site but a short walk to the Riverway you can grab some. It was close to all the nice places to go see on the Riverwalk and used the scooters to go to Alamo
Typical motel with a nice small pool. The staff was very friendly, I enjoyed the quietness of the hotel during the week. It takes approx. 25 minutes to reach the riverwalk by foot, but the bus connection is really good. There is a lovely mexican mall very close to the hotel. I would book it again.
The hotel is conveniently located on the Riverwalk. The breakfast offers plenty of different choices and tastes good. The kick back event from 5:30 to 7:00 is a plus and includes drinks. There is enough food to make it a meal. We had a river view which was a plus. The room was clean.
When you are checking in you get offered wine, how cool is that. The property is right on the riverwalk which is great. The hotel itself is so modern, cozy and with San Antonio written all over it. Will be coming back.
I loved everything about this place. Nice and clean hotel located literally next to the San Antonio riverwalk, shopping mall, Margaritaville, Fogo De Chao and much more.
Located very close to the convention centre, the hotel provides awesome ease of travel. All attractions are close by including Alamo and city center and riverwalk.
