Shippensburg is a convenient stop along the interstate.
Shippensburg is a convenient stop along the interstate. Holiday Inn Express and Suites is a great place to stay. It’s actually a gem. If you’re concerned about lunch or dinner options, there are plenty of good options very close to the hotel.

CJs restaurant has excellent food and very nice waiters/waitresses. The H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center is wonderful. Good acoustics and good views. We saw Lewis Black and he is so funny. We really enjoyed the show .

Shippensburg is a cute town, but there isnt much of anything...
Shippensburg is a cute town, but there isnt much of anything there. I travel to Shippensburg 2 times a year homecoming and state wide. If you are a foodie , this is not the place, basic sheetz , Chinese, and fast food are your options out there. The Shippesnburg University campus is beautiful!

Looks like a university quaint town. Only spent the night so really did it get a chance to explore. Perhaps next time. Stayed the the Marriott Courtyard and the hotel had the convenience of a Bistro restaurant on the premises. Shippensburg is a nice town however it has gone downhill since I grew up there. It is unfortunate to see the downtown lack the fun shops that once occupied the buildings. I have a feeling the only thing really saving the town is Shippensburg University.JenniferUnited States - 8.0Scored 8.0

I was there doing family history research and to day hike on the AT. Some good restaurants (Appalachian Brewing) and ice cream (Cabin on King) stands in town. Nice gift and clothing shop - Raspberry Jam. Lovely drives in the rolling hills of PA. Being from the West, the scenery was nice!
