    To be blunt, TP Soc Trang basically has very little to offer...

    To be blunt, TP Soc Trang basically has very little to offer visitors. There are a few reasonable hotels. There are less than a handful of good restaurants: and you probably won't find them with Google. There are really no such things as your usual cafes and wine bars: almost all coffee shops are in the traditional very basic Vietnamese type/model. There are no beaches, mountains, or decent views or outlooks (because the Mekong is basically FLAT). the river in Soc Trang is barely worth the name. you would only come to Soc Trang because you have family here (as I do) or you are going somewhere else in the Mekong.
