We came to Peje to go hiking in the nearby hills on the newly established Balkan Trail. An infrastructure to support walkers is in its early days, but easy enough to figure nonetheless. We loved the walking, staying in friendly hotels - and of course drinking lots of Peje beer.

The weather was chilly, but we still enjoyed our 3 days. The area is beautiful and we will need to return during the summer months to explore the mountains. The people were unbelievably friendly (as in all of Kosovo). We made friends with the workers at Coki's Pizzeria near the river. We also enjoyed the walk along the trail on the southern side of the river. There is a small little place to have coffee on the opposite side of the river where you cross the bridge. Very scenic!

Peja is a cool old city with a fun market and several very old mosques as well as an old monastery with a 1,000 year-old mulberry tree. Peja is walkable, but driving in it is the pits. Don;t depend on Google or Apple maps. The mountains and gorge are amazingly beautiful. And where else can you go on a zipline or complete and obstacle course for just 10 euro each?

The town has a very picturesque location There is nothing exceptional about the town itself. It has an Old Bazaar which is in fact not very old, having been reconstructed following damage sustained during the Kosovan War. In the summer I am sure Peje would make a pleasant stopping point, with its multiple coffee shops and restaurants. The big draw to the town is surely its proximity to the Patriarchal Monastery on the outskirts of the town and the Visoki Dečani Monastery, some 12 km from Peje. These are both UNESCO World Heritage sites. Peje also provides a gateway to the Rugova mountains.

City rebuilt after war.
City rebuilt after war. Not well planned but it is amazing to see at this stage. Side walk is not even, be careful.
The price for dinning is very reasonable.
There are two UNISCO monastery - one 6 km and other 10 km from Peje. Must visit sites.
We did not go hiking.

Peja seems perfect for those going climbing/hiking in the nearby mountains. Museum next door is small but interesting.
Decani Monastery is a lovely trip, but needs bus to Decani and then taxi and the same to come back to Peja. 15€ for taxi from Peja.
The apartment is 2 minutes away from the center so it's very easy to get around. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, it is a family run business and between them they can help out guests with a few different languages which makes communication easy. The apartment was clean, we went in winter so it was a bit chilly but there is AC in the living room and a heater in the bedroom so it got warm in time for bed. They are also pet friendly which was a big plus for us. Definitely recommend staying here if you are in Peje
The best hotel I have ever been privileged enough to stay at. Wonderful building, panoramic view, calming and relaxing environment, only 27 km from the city and as soon as you get here you will be amazed by the view that this place offers! It's worth just spending an afternoon here, let alone staying a night! If there was grade 11 or 12, I would definitely put it there.
Chalet Kujta is the perfect base for exploring Rugova Canyon and the Accursed Mountains. The owners were really helpful and booked us a taxi to and from Peja bus station. Our room had amazing mountain views and a super comfortable king size bed. We dined at the hotel restaurant and the food was very tasty – make sure to try their flija!
Nice and refurbished hotel near the city center. Great hosts and very comfortable beds. The room is well designed and the shower is very comfortable. It’s warm and there is the AC to switch on if needed. Breakfast at the restaurant downstairs is quite good, and food recommended. You can see they have taken design into consideration.
The hotel is centrally located, the rooms are clean, modern and fully furnished. The staff is extremely available, especially the manager! He will plan you an entire trip if you ask him!
Breakfast is available, and it's very good as well!
Probably the best place to stay at in the town
- the hotel is mainly functioning as a wedding location and renting out rooms in the in-between. The main rooms are marvellous.
- staff super attentive and welcoming even if English is not fluent. Every single one of them we interacted with were lovely to us.
- breakfast was great
Our stay at this apartment was exceptional. Impeccably clean, comfortable, and conveniently located, it exceeded all expectations. The host was friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Peje. 10/10!
The Hotel is located near to border of Montenegro; before "Peje" city. Owner of the hotel was kind and gentle. I dont like to stay at the downtown hotels and this hotel was at a location which wasnt at downtown and at a easy-to-reach place. Overall I can say ok.
Hotel Panorama delivers what it is named for: the panorama which is great, located just above the village.
The elderly couple that met me ( the owner's parents) were very sweet and kind and took good care of me. The room was very spacious
Location, customer service and staff is amazing. Our room was cleaned daily and everything was so nice one of the nicest hotels in Kosovo for sure. It’s so modern and the family rooms are so spacious
