Beausoleil, hotel in Bonnievale

Offering an outdoor plunge pool and lush garden, Beausoleil is located in Bonnievale. Situated between the vineyards, it offers views of the Langeberg and Riviersonderend Mountains.

The location is fantastic, as are the rooms. Very elegant and good quality furniture - not discards from the family home and certainly not "previously loved" furniture nor linen. Easy to find and very good location for all the historic landmarks surrounding the area. The gardens are extremely well cared for and certainly deserve more than a mere few minutes to appreciate.

Melkhout River Cottage, hotel in Bonnievale

Offering a garden and river view, Melkhout River Cottage is located in Bonnievale, 8.4 km from Marloth Nature Reserve and 18 km from Bonnievale Golf Club.

It was roomy, airy, spotlessly clean and clearly well cared. Well styled, very well equipped and felt like a home away from home. The deck is lovely, looking out on the river and you could extend it further by opening the sliding doors - braais inside and out. One bedroom has a small deck with a fabulous view over the Langeberg mountains. The hosts have really gone over and above the call of duty to make the stay memorable like leaving farm milk and butter in the fridge, fresh bread waiting on the counter and the fans already running to create a cool haven upon arrival.

The Vineyard Country House, hotel in Bonnievale

Nestled at the foot of the Langeberg Mountain Range and surrounded by wineries, The Vineyard Country House features an outdoor pool, a sun terrace and patios overlooking the garden.

Nestled in the beautiful town of Montagu, the Vineyard Country House offers a great retreat. My room was impeccably clean, well stocked (hygiene items, coffee and rusks, a carafe of sherry as a gift, etc) and the amenities, including a refreshing pool and a large balcony, really elevate the stay. The breakfast spread is a culinary delight, and the dining room has a farmhouse charm to it. What truly sets this place apart is the warmth of the hosts, ensuring a memorable stay. Vineyard Country House promises an enchanting escape, leaving guests longing to return.

It was quiet the experience, small town with so much agriculture and winelands and greenery and people are friendly and smiling. Fresh air, very beautiful. Everything needed was in and around the town.

Very good positioned little village with friendly people and beautiful surroundings. We visiting this place every year for about 20 years. Tasting extraordinary wines, chatting to winemakers, cheeses and fruits, what could be better?!

I am in a wheelchair with an emotionally supportive pet so can't travel without her...and nowhere do you find suitable bookings for both instances. I therefore sacrificed my comfort in favour of my fur baby which is why we picked Bonnievale River Lodge. If, however, you are wheelchair bound then I wouldn't recommend this place. I couldn't explore the grounds and only managed the short distance from my accommodation to the pool and back. The Vineyard Suite where we stayed was spacious enough for a wheelchair but the bathroom is not accessible at all ... unless you are like me and innovative.

I was there during the busiest part of the season for the winelands. The vineyards were alive with pickers and even though the area was experiencing a drought, the vines were beautifully green. Glimpses of the river every here and there painted a very romantic picture! The Bonnievale community is the best. Friendly, helpful, kind and always smiling. I went to the restaurant at Van Loveren as well as the one at Bon Courage and they were both great! Early morning coffee at Relish in the Main Road, another gem. I will definitely visit again and spend more time in the area.

    Beautiful area.

Beautiful area. We ate at the Arena, basically the best for food around. Shopped at Spar which can get a bit crowded. Easy to get around. Would bring all my shopping so I can stay calm and relaxed :)
