Smithfield House, hotel in Smithfield

Set in Smithfield, Smithfield House provides accommodation with seating area. This guest house has a garden.

Smithfield was a real "farm stay" experience. From the two-day old ducklings, the very caring mother of 1 month old ducklings, the geese with attitude, Millie the donkey who nudged you if she thought you were ignoring her, Stu the sheep (so named so he wouldn't end up in one) who chewed on my shoelaces, to the pretty goats and graceful lamas, we were enchanted. The house, with its cool corridors and large rooms, transports one back to earlier centuries; the artwork took our interest, the amenities were very comfortable and Amanda took careful note of our needs. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, depite loadshedding.

Our room had underfloor heating and electric blankets so we were snug and warm on a chilly night. Dee Dee was such a delightful host and cook and allowed us to use her interesting lounge. What a gem

When we booked the booking site said Supper could be arranged, however due to circumstances this was not possible, and no alternate arrangements could be made. Fortunately we found a restaurant open for supper. This venue is defiantly for a one nite stop over (arrive after supper and leave before breakfast) although very expensive it is beautiful and very comfortable.

I need a place along the N6 to lay over night, Jasmine is just perfect. I got in at 7pm and left the next morning at 9am for East London. Smithfield as a town is quaint, neat and developed. Jasmine is beautiful and cosy. A definite must see.
