The inside of the house is beautiful. The main rooms on the lower floors were excellently clean, especially the tatami room. The kitchen was nice and spacious, and for a group of seven, that was great to have. The shower was nice and had very strong pressure.

What a delight to stay at this beautiful Japanese style house with an abundance of amazing paintings by the owner. Spacious, cozy and functional rooms as well as the most kind and welcoming host. We would recommend this place to anybody who wants to have a great Japanese experience that really stands out. We would love to come back some time.

The hosts are kind and sweet, the facilities are cosy, and the space is soothing and aesthetic. The building apparently is 100 years old, so it has a very traditional Japanese character which is exactly what you want from a trip here. The hosts also volunteered to drive me to the train station so I would be on time for the next leg of my journey. I stayed here only overnight, but it's the sort of place that makes you wish you had stayed for longer.

There was a bath around 40 degrees with both hot and cold taps; a cold dip bath; a vapor sauna and a (closed) stone sauna. There were also separate showers in the dormitory. Towels, pyjamas, hairbrush and toothbrush/paste are provided fresh each day. There was a locker large enough to fit a backpack in the private capsule, although if you stay multiple nights, you still return the key to the front desk when you leave between 10-3.FlippitySolo traveller
