The area is nothing short of spectacular!! Rhino Peak pokes you in the eye it is so close. Numerous hiking options abound. The rondavel is cozy. The thatch roof and the structural framing supporting it is a great study as you lay in the comfortable double bed. The kitchen island/bar is well stocked with any and all items you need to self cater. The shower provides an endless supply of hot satisfying water. My wife and I have been traveling for a month in South Africa and this is the best yet. The hosts are generous with thier time and helped us plan our hikes and even led us on an excursion into the National Park.

The surroundings were beautiful, the lodge was amazing and my only regret is that we didn't stay longer. The owner, Wolf Avni was so hospitable and made us feel so at home. He even sent through a hot loaf of freshly made bread and their trout patè. It was a wonderful touch. The hiking trail was amazing and highly recommended. The cabin we stayed in had a lovely fireplace that we used almost everyday because of the weather. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and can't wait to go back!

The cottage had everything you needed and was in pristine condition. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. In the evenings they would pack and light the fireplace making the cottage even more cozy. It is ideally situated for a morning run/walk, horse riding, paddling, etc and to the restaurants scattered along the Underberg surroundings. The value for money makes this a 10/10 stay.

The photos do not do this place justice, the place is way bigger than I expected. I could have spent a whole week there! The cottage is SO cosy and now I see why that was such a big comment in previous reviews. Although there’s no heaters in the rooms they were still nice and warm (it was snowing outside) We had a great weekend and would choose this accommodation again in a heart beat.
