The 20 euro airport pickup for our 1am checkin went smoothly. 5min walk from a small grocery and the water where you can see a great sunset. Great communication with host on WhatsApp.

We also used the private pool a lot more than we thought. It was perfect for the kids to still swim in in the afternoon when we left the beach or one of the area pools. JC is a very good host who really did everything to make us feel comfortable. The first day, JC took us on a short tour so we got to know the local area and Santa Maria, which we appreciated very much. JC also helped us book a full day tour around the island which was also very good. JC responds directly to questions via WhatsApp.

We opted to stay self catering; Andrew was very helpful with the location of the best supermarket where we stocked up on everything we needed for the villa; and he also gave us some great restaurant recommendations in Santa Maria. The hotel didn’t seem that busy even though it was Easter school holidays, though we didn’t eat in any of the hotel restaurants as there were so many great ones in Santa Maria. Taxis into Santa Maria were easily arranged when we didn’t want to make the 45 minute walk there.

I can tell it’s English owned and loved the Cornwall feel to it, the surfboard, the crockery, the kettle was great, I even did laundry there. the security of a 5 star resort but private villas. loved it! will be back!
