I've stayed in similar places in Ireland and France but this one beats all of them by far, I heartily recommend this place to anyone who wishes for a bit of peace and quiet (yet near a major city) in the beautiful countryside of northern Portugal.

Awesome rural studio. Very spacious and in a secluded area. Wonderful green landscape all around with cute donkeys in the property. The owner is very nice and everything was great.

The grounds are extensive and very well maintained. The swimming pool is superb and so quiet and relaxing. The maps provided to us when we checked in were brilliant - we were able to explore the Douro and the Parque Natural do Alvão by car, as well take the riverside walk into the town of Vila Real. We self catered, but we made good use of the "Honesty Shop" at reception for local produce.

Julia, the owner is the cutest and really making sure to bring so many people together. We had a really unique experience and were able to fully dive into the community live. The location is super good for some hikings and views. also the street until the stay is accesible with a normal car, so no worries about the rental car :) Thanks again Julia, we had a magical time! Swimming pool looked inviting, with plenty of sun beds available, though weather did not encourage us to use it. Quiet location, set in attractive gardens. Margarida and Nunno were very friendly and welcoming, and spoke good English. There was an excellent restaurant two minutes walk away that served good food at a reasonable cost. They also had a good wine cellar. Host was very helpful and spoke English. It meant we did not have to travel into city for food.

The decoration, the cleanliness and warming appearance made our trip so much better. The owner of this beautiful house was extremely welcoming and very kind to me and my family and she made us feel so special.
