Breakfast was fantastic and fresh and very generous. We only stayed one night as a stopover but wish we could stay for a week. Very good value, ideal for a family stay to explore Marais Poitevin region or to stop on a cycling/walking tour.

The local town of Niort has an excellent market for fresh food and there are several places for day trips, including La Rochelle, the nearly canal network and Futuroscope. Guests at La Maison du Gardien Domaine du Château des Loups will be able to enjoy activities in and around Échiré, like cycling, fishing and hiking. The holiday home has a picnic area where you can spend a day out in the open. The picturesque Gatehouse was comfortable, clean and renovated to a high standard. Although close to the pool it was still quite private since the entrance was on the opposite side of the house. We enjoyed most of our meals at an outdoor table in front of the house under the shade of a large parasol and nearby trees.

Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the country house free of charge. The property is non-smoking and is situated 15 km from Natur'Zoo. Lovely location and friendly welcome, very helpful with information and local advice.
