We received a wonderful welcome from Mirjana, who greeted us with a glass of her fine Teran and we felt instantly at home. Skerlj is a historic wine estate which goes back six generations to 1788; our room was cosy and full of character with beautiful old furniture. Delicious breakfasts with homemade eggs, local jams and honeys etc. Mirjana gave us some excellent recommendations for dinner both nights. A lovely place to wind down and enjoy the atmosphere with the friendly cats and elderly dog. Thoroughly recommended, we can’t wait to return!

There is a private entrance at the apartment for the convenience of those who stay. It is set 17 km from Trieste Train Station and offers a housekeeping service. The property is non-smoking and is situated 16 km from San Giusto Castle. Really enjoyed our stay here. Friendly hosts and all facilities we needed. Great breakfasts. We stayed here as base for visiting Lipica and Koper. Also very close to Italy but we couldn't take our hire car out of Slovenia. Friendly dogs and cats too and lots of horses. Very happy to recommend.

Free parking and free bikes are provided. The host was super sweet and always there when we needed something. We had 1 breakfast and 1 dinner and it was delish. The surroundings are so beautiful and the house very comfortable. The swimming pool and the sauna really pretty.
