What a quaint, original “French hotel” I wouldn’t change it for any frou-frou luxury boutique hotel. The food was fantastic as well! They have a genius misting system that cools the air so sitting under their wonderfully shaded front garden is a treat! The staff were incredibly polite and accommodating 10/10

Being in Vezelay it is a convenient overnight stop on the long drive down to Provence on holiday. This boutique hotel is unique: an inspired restoration of an old house in the middle of this historic (traffic-less) medieval village on the old pilgrim trail. The sister restaurant ('La Terrasse') nearby on the square in front of the basilica is excellent.
