Damon's hotel exceeded our expectations on every level. The room was excellent, with plenty of space and a comfortable bed. Whilst we didn't eat at the accompanying restaurant, we did use the bar, which, like the hotel, was excellent value for money. Interesting old building situated 100m of cathedral 200m from Castle and at the top of Steep Hill. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice from local sources. The evening A la carte menu was reasonably priced with a good selection of well prepared food .A duck egg and lime custard was to die for . We stayed for 2 nights mid week and thoroughly enjoyed it
