The family-owned Hótel Lækur is set on an Icelandic horse farm, between the Golden Circle and the south coast. Hella is 10 minutes’ drive away. It offers a sun terrace and a guest lounge.

The bright, modern rooms feature wooden floors and private bathrooms. Some include either a terrace or balcony. The surrounding views take in the Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull volcanoes.

Beautiful location! The cabins are very confortable, with plenty of natural light and ventilation. The bathroom is of good size and modern too. The terrace of the cabin is great and has a great view of the river and the field and the sunset. The breakfast was very good! All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Out kids were invited to feed the horses and they loved it.

Featuring a stargazing observatory on site, this luxury hotel is in an idyllic remote location next to the Rangá salmon river in Hella. The hotel offers wake-up calls for when the Northern Lights appear and turns off all lighting for the viewing experience. Guests can also enjoy outdoor hot tubs and free WiFi.

Great and spacious rooms (we had tried the Japanese inspired junior suite and then 1 night in the large suite), both offered great space (latter with a jacuzzi in the room). Overall excellent service across full experience, great restaurant and beautiful peaceful landscape. Additionally, star gazing observatory is very nice and guide explains the beautiful skyscape. We got super lucky and caught the Northern Lights for over an hour during the star gazing tour!

Everything!! We had the top 2 cabins, numbers 7&8. The views were beautiful, the cabin was cosy and well designed. The beds were comfortable and the veranda was gorgeous! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, we were celebrating a 40th birthday, they put up fairy lights and balloons, they put cakes in the fridge for us! It was amazing! The breakfast was so delicious, such a homely place to dine and it was all cooked fresh for us. I wish we could have stayed longer. You MUST do the horse riding!!

The hotel was designed on one floor, having only the breakfast area on the second floor. To use its corridors intelligently, they built it in glass, and it’s a lovely place to sit, relax, and wait for the Northern lights. There is also a small gym, hot tubs, and saunas in the outside area.

These cottages have been the best we have stayed in, they were very tastefully designed and decorated. There was lovely views out each window, and it was set in a very peaceful location. The cottage was well equipped and the kitchen area was a good size. Will be recommending this cabin to my Australian friends.

It was extremely lovely! The house is spacious, well equipped. Linda (host) was really supportive. Rooms are spacious and everything is nicely designed. And the hot tub was absolutely perfect (you can regulate temperature by yourself). One of our best experience around the Iceland😍😍😍

We stayed in one of the little self contained houses amd they were just perfect. Really nicely designed and comfortable. Staff was great and food in the hotel was lovely traditional Icelandic fair. The breakfast included was really good too. Probably one of the best we had over the two weeks we travelled around Iceland. Really recommend and will stay again if in the area.
