Not a place for younger generations seeking for fun.
Not a place for younger generations seeking for fun. The city is pretty quiet and doesn't offer much. The food is good, beaches overly crowded. Not my favorite place unfortunately and I wouldn't go back.

Neum is a picturesque Adriatic town built into the steep surrounding hillside. That means ups are WAAAY UP and downs are WAAAY DOWN. Parking is challenging but some public lots are available. It seems that almost all hotels have some parking for guests. Be prepared to walk (remember the ups and downs). Typical hot days on the beach and cool evenings once the sun goes down. We were traveling with 4 adults and 3 young children(5,3,1). We brought a fold-up wagon for transport of umbrellas, beach chairs, towels and toys—it was indispensable. You can rent umbrellas and chaise lounges at Hotel Zenit beach (where we were). The beach is rocky, no sand and it is small. We were there Sept. 5-12, and it was still fairly crowded. The paddle boats and kayaks were 20km/hour. The 1/2 submarine ride was 15km/adult, 10km/child. Jet skis are 100km/30 minutes or 50km/10 minutes. Restaurants are OK—the best gelato is at Hotel Vapore, outside on the boardwalk. Galeb restaurant was great and Marinero had speedy delivery with great pizza and čevapi.

Neum is the single seaside town of Bosnia-Herzegovina that has a long pomerade with beaches, markets, restaurants, bars, ice cream and streetfood kiosks along the coastline. You can go to a boat cruise, a semi-submarine cruise and even a jetski ride!
In the centre parties are likely each night. If you are visiting from the former eastern block and remember the 90s, this place will most likely bring back some memories from that era, with a modern cover page.
The country is still catching up economically, therefore a higher percentage of the cars are older - VW Golf II is still very-very popular.
Don’t be surprised that smoking is still very common, even in the restaurants any any other public places.
Keep in mind that Bosnia is still a cash economy, it is suggested to ask in prior if you can pay by card. Larger shops and the petrol stations are usually accepting card payments. Euro is accepted in most tourist destinations.

It is a quaint little town with Only a few beaches to spend the days on. The main complaint would be the lack of publicly available space for towels and personal sunbeds because most of the beaches Are privately-owned, making it less suitable for some people.

We were travelling and used Neum just as transit for one night break. What I saw in this short period wouldnt make me to come again. I mean appartment and people were ok but the beach too crowded and the whole town is full of discarded rubbish so I didnt feel good here.
The host was very kind and made sure to always check if we needed anything. His son was always available as well incase we had any questions.
The beach on the opposite side of neum and its center is the place to be if you are looking to relax and not be surrounded by hundreds of people, the beach is a hidden gem and just a short drive from
MAMPAS. You can see the beach from
Your room as well!
The location was perfect, very close to the main beaches and close to bakery. The view was amazing , with a direct sea view and the rest of Neum. The apartment itself had everything we needed and when we needed an extra items the host was very kind when giving it to us. The parking was a huge plus too. All in all we have had a lovely stay.
The staff was beyond kind and made our stay easy. The hotel is just a simple room but it was more than enough for our stay. He was also pretty knowledgeable in being able to verbally guide us through town to a few locations. Check in and out went over like a breeze.
Best place to spend your summer holiday in Neum.
