Beautiful property and exceptional value or the money
We were given a main floor room as requested. The room was a generous size. The bathroom was adequate. Breakfast was included. It was not fancy but there was plenty of choice. My husband said the coffee was good.
We asked the owner for a recommendation for a place for dinner. He sent us to the Juniper restaurant not far away. Glad we went. The food was excellent.
Parking is also available.

I'm from St. John's, Newfoundland.
I'm from St. John's, Newfoundland. There is literally not much to do in Grand Falls. There's a trail around a pond I never checked out but that's it.
I wanted to eat somewhere other than Macdonald's or Jungle Jim's but sadly there was nothing else open. Surprisingly because it was Father's day. I did find a Chinese place. Great if you like huge portions and lots of salt in your food. It was not my cup of tea but it was blocked so others love it.
I stayed in Grand Falls one night because I booked a white water rafting trip the next morning just 10 minutes outside of Grand Falls. Now that's definitely worth booking! It was an amazing 4 hours on the Exploits River! Check out Rafting Newfoundland for details. It was worth every penny! They also have chalets to stay in overlooking the river. I would have stayed there if I was staying more than 24 hours.

I enjoyed Papa's Sweet Shop, the snacks were great and the arcade was amazing! Donini's and Taiwan were delicious places to eat. The only drawbacks in the town were Covid19 related, as some of the attractions such as the Salmon Ladder were closed.
The playgrounds were open, and Papa's sweet shop also had a playground, so the kids enjoyed that.
There is no bus system in the town, but most places in the town are walkable, although we had a car. It takes about 5-7 minutes to go across town.

Really nothing Grand to offer in the old mill town struggling to recover. We simply needed a break while traveling East to West and this seemed good geographically. It served its purpose, but I would figure out something different next time.,

Grand Falls is the largest town on the Exploits River system...
Grand Falls is the largest town on the Exploits River system that is undoubtedly one of the most prolific Atlantic salmon rivers in North America. The Salmonid Interpretation Centre is the highlight of attractions in the area but there are many more sites of interest including a museum that recounts the origins of the aboriginal community, the Beotuk that died out in the 19th century. The town is also mid-way between Corner Brook in the west and St Johns in the east making it a convenient stopping off point for travelers doing a traverse of the entire island. It is also only 90 kilometers from Gander that gained international fame during 9/11 when the town played host to several thousand Americans whose return journey home from Europe was interrupted by the attack on the World Trade Centre in New York.

The location was reasonably close to the highway which was important as I was driving through. The room was clean and I liked the contactless registration as I was able to go straight to the room which had already been assigned. The breakfast was a wonderful surprise that included not only the normal continental choices, but a full hot breakfast arranged artfully on the plate.
Dont judge the building by the outside. When going from the outside of the building into the lobby and our room was a pleasant surprise. Hidden gem, updated rooms, clean and pleasant staff were all a great addition to our stay. Signage could be better to indicate Riverside Hotel. Otherwise 10 out of 10!
The hotel was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the room was large and had all the needed items and places for suitcases and coats etc. The breakfast was had cereal toast instant oatmeal, yogurt and fruit cups. Coffee maker in the room and always coffee and tea in the lobby/kitchen area.
We had a long drive and decided to stop for the night. This little family run hotel was immaculate and very comfortable. Staff was helpful and the value was amazing. If you are making the long drive from Port au Basques or Gros Morne stop here.
facilities manager, Perry, went out of his way to accommodate my physical disability including building a temporary ramp for me so I didn't have to negotiate hotel entrance stairs. Permanent ramp being installed at the back for future guests.
The location is perfect, central to everything around.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable.
We stayed for 4 nights, and most likely would return to this hotel.
Older hotel but well kept. Breakfast was continental. location was easy to find, staff very friendly. Renovations were inprogress but did not intefere with our stay. In room Coffee maker and fridge great to have.
Exceptionally clean comfortable building & suites. Very well maintained
Staff was very accommodating & presented themselves in a friendly professional manner.
Would/ will highly recommend Hotel Robin Hood.
This hotel is an excellent place to stay in Grand Falls. It was very clean, our room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The included breakfast provided a good variety of self serve breakfast foods.
It was clean it was very nice cottage feel. Well still staying apart of a hotel! My fiancé loved the property. It was her favourite spot we stayed so far as we are traveling through all of newfoundland!!
Staff was excellent, they moved our rooms all together on arrival even though I had forgot to say that in the booking. Lobby was nicely renovated, hotel is conveniently right off of the highway
A wonderful hotel in a convenient central location. Friendly helpful staff, super clean rooms, easy parking and a great continental breakfast. Thank you for such a relaxing stay.
It's a hidden gem! It's a home away from home. My kids loved our stay. I like the layout and how it's designed. Very nice compared to the other hotels we stayed in prior.
