A two night stay in the town of Almaden to visit the mine. Very comfortable room. I was met by the host, Jose Antonio, at appointed time and shown the room, Indeed the host upgraded my room. A lovely building with a great charm very much supported by the host's continuing attention to detail. A light but good breakfast each morning. The host was also able to garage my car for the two days

A very welcoming host. I had drinks and dinner in the restaurant. All very good, particularly the grilled entrecôte, size of a family Sunday roast back home!. The location is particularly beautiful.

Almaden is a mining town, has some lovely features , we wanted to go down the mines but the web info is not specifuc, there are only two entry times 10.30 and 3.30 if you miss these by even five min you cannot visit , .Still worth a visit to the town .
The hotel was decorated very tastefully, and the owner was very attentive. We visited the old mercury mine (heritage site) and the hotel was just a couple of minutes walk away.
When we arrived the owner said he was going to upgrade us to a bigger room, which was really lovely and had its own private patio. So we were very pleased.
The breakfast was really nice and laid out in a large room with a massive table, and Linen napkins, and fresh organge juice and coffee served by the owner.
We endorse all the glowing and well deserved reviews that this hotel has received and it was a privilege to stay in such a historic property. We chose it for it´s location, a 5 minutes walk to the entrance of the decommissioned mercury mine that we had come to see, but we did not expect to have such a luxurious and interesting stay and meet such a delightful host. Thank you Jose Antonio, we shall be recommending the Conde Fucares to all our friends and family.
Staying in one of the oldest buildings of Almadén certainly is an experience, sleeping in a monumental room where history is all around you! If you come by car, drive up the street until the little church at the end and park on the square next to it, only a hundred meter walk to the hotel. And from the hotel it's only a ten minute walk downhill to the worldheritage-mines for a tour; at the same church go right, then left twice and you're there.
This was a truly exceptional experience. The owner, José Antonio, went far beyond what is usual to help us, and couldn't do enough for us. The hotel itself is like a museum, with something exciting to see at every turn.
José Antonio is the most courtly, polite, and knowledgeable gentleman, with such excellent conversation skills. His breakfast is pretty good, too.🍏🍐🥐🥖☕️🧈🧀 If we're in that area again, we'll definitely re-visit. 🌹

One of the most special and interesting places we have ever stayed in. The bedroom (and bathroom) was large, comfortable and surprisingly warm (for such an old building). Amazing! The host / hotelier is understandably very proud of this unique place to stay and is very helpful. Breakfast was served in an very impressive room and was very good.
The hotel was easy to find and in a good location with easy walking access to the city. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful.
The room was a decent size, well equipped and clean.
The breakfast was alright.
Overall a good experience.
The hotel was fine for one night. Peace and quiet, beds quite comfortable, nice garden with palm trees. The owner was friendly but did not speak English.
