It was right on the Camino Frances. Close to bars and restaurants. The room we were silicates had a bad odour in it but the host was very understanding and we were given another room. This room was lovely with a large bathroom.
Surrounded by vineyards, this 18th-century palace is located in the small village of Canedo, just 30 minutes’ drive from Ponferrada. It offers guided visits of the palace and the vineyards.

Good location for a traveler who needs to stop near the road to spend the night. Surprisingly big and spacious, both the facilities and the room. Food downstairs at the restaurant was also good, both for dinner and for breakfast.

Liked the location. Right on the plaza and the Camino de Santiago. The room was spacious and clean. As was the bathroom although I did not book a disability room. The breakfast was great value for money. The staff welcoming and accommodating.
Cacabelos is a medieval village, surrounded by wineries.
Cacabelos is a medieval village, surrounded by wineries. It is situated some 7 kms from Ponferrada and exactly on the pilgrim road to Santiago de Compostela. The village offers a lot of facilities, shops etc. I stayed in Hotel Villa de Cacabelos. Good !
Spain at its very best. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the hotel staff were both friendly and helpful. From recommending the best restaurant to ensuring our luggage and motorbikes were stored safely in their underground car park, nothing was too much trouble - and best of all - they always had a happy smile on their faces. Quite an achievement considering we speak hardly a word of Spanish, and could only communicate via Google translate. Without a doubt one of the very best places we stayed at in Spain.
Hotel Villa de Cacabelos is an excellent hotel with very nice, clean rooms. They also serve breakfast etc. Nearby are shops and other facilities like a medical center. The hotel is on the Camino de Santiago. Television with many channels in all languages. Electric window blinds. Very good WIFI. Friendly, helpful staff. Cacabelos is a medieval village, less touristic than e.g. Villafranca. Pilgrims might stay a while, rest, and then move on to Galicia.
Charming, comfortable and unique hotel experience. The room was on the top floor under the roof of the historic building with lovely antique furnishings, a large bathroom with two person jacuzzi and a cozy sitting area. The hotel itself is a beautiful old stone and wood building that was once a pilgrim hospital. The on site restaurant was delicious and the small store selling local wines, gift items and local crafts was delightful.
I hadn’t planned on staying in town but needed a place suddenly… this turned out to be one of the best hostels I stayed at on the entire Camino!
staff was friendly, and hard working. room was clean, and I happened to have no other people in mine (4 Bds) so I effectively got a hotel experience for only $20.
nice modern shower, modern tv, comfortable bed, secure lockers/facility, and air conditioning!

Nicely renovated hotel close to everything and yet still very quiet and peaceful. The woman at the front desk was 100% friendly and helpful throughout my stay. (Note to management - give her a pay raise. Good staff are the best advertising). The hotel has an elevator.
Hotel is in the middle of downtown. The restaurant was open for guests, but not the evening we arrived. It seems to be only open for coffee, but might have more at some other time. Restaurants and bars were in easy walking distance.
The hostel was centrally located and was better than many hotels I've stayed in. The room had AC and a full tub which made for great soaking after a long day on the Way.
The young woman who answered the phone and tried to direct me to the other place where I had to pick up the key finally had to come to the hotel and let me in.
It’s a very nice hotel with a lovely restaurant and sitting area. we had a great jacuzzi that helped us get proper rest to continue our Camino de Santiago.
