Great! Hospitality of the staff was top. They helped is with booking a taxi, giving us guidance to the bus station and also were kind to give us fresh towels on the 2nd day when we enquired (apparently towels are changed only on the 3rd day). Very friendly staff. Clean premises, comfortable beds and great location. Really unique space as well.

The views from the bedroom are amazing. The location is wonderful, on top of the monte Santa Trega. It was very easy to check in after hours. The bedroom was big and had a balcony with views of the river Miño. The beds were comfortable and the bedroom is quite big.

An unexpectedly attractive town with beautiful harbour and nearby mountain. Lanes often steep and narrow so car driving tricky but possible. Plenty of restaurants and a bakery offering very good breakfasts. A walk up to the castle above the town was enjoyable.

A little disappointed by the recommended Porto Guardes café on the harbour because they didn't serve food till 7.15 pm & the salad was mainly out of a jar, i.e. white asparagus, sweet red peppers, an onion garnish on the boiled potatoes. Would have been better to have a fresh salad. However, the pimientos Padron & the Galician octopus were excellent.
The two mile walk from my hostel to the harbour was wonderful & quiet.
My stay at the apartment couldn’t have been more pleasant. The photos don’t do this magical place justice. There is a lot of space and everything was in perfect condition. The owners were generous and helpful throughout and we are already planning on staying there again!
Some advice if you are looking to stay there, the address doesn't work properly on Google maps and Uber doesn't function in the area so go to the Taxi stop outside Froiz supermarket in A Guarda and ask a taxi driver to take you to the address.
The owner was incredible to attend to us and make our check in smooth and easy. The room was perfect for our stay during the Camino. The next day, breakfast was great and check out was very easy. They allowed our bag-transfer company to drop off and pick up with ease. We would stay here again if we visit A Guarda again.
P.S. when we arrived the front desk was closed. If this happens to you fear not! Just message the property and the owner will arrive very quickly!
Location was incredible - totally worth the 30 minute walk from the port to get there!
Rooms are not super upgraded but that adds to the charm.
Hotel staff was amazing and so super helpful! 5 stars for the over the top effort of both of the people working the front desk during my stay.
The whole place is reminiscent of family resorts from the 50s with a luxury dining area, lovely patio restaurant, and nice rooms with comfy beds, all right on the beach.
This hotel is one of the best hotels I have had the pleasure of staying in. The staff were incredibly helpful, the location fantastic, and the room... wow! We were lucky enough to stay in the old part of the hotel, overlooking the courtyard. I was really blown away by this place as I didn't expect too much for the price. Would go back to A Guarda just to stay there again :)
The staff were amazing. They kindly stored our luggage for two days until we arrived.
Nothing was too much trouble as they ordered a taxi for us, which arrived on time as arranged. One of our party was continuing to walk the Camino and the lady at the hotel gave her directions to the route and made sure we watched my friend to see she was safely on her way.
Incredible! Located in a building that was a convent or a monastery, the hotel still has a room with relics, old books samples of tiles from 16th century, etc. It is not a traditional hotel - so there are no elevators or a big dining hall, but if you are looking for a unique experience in a place that has seen a lot of history, this place delivers in spades.
Set atop a hill overlooking the mińo estuary and the port of A Guarda, this is a place well worth staying in.
It’s so close to the Castro and when the hordes have departed the hilltop it feels like you have the place to yourself.
It was unique hotel, relaxing sitting areas, comfortable accommodations, super beds, excellent showers, free port and cake, and fantastic food. Staff was accommodating and helpful. They even provided options for food allergies.
What a perfect place to spend a few days. Super little apartment fully equipped
Great garden with sun all day
Parking right at the door
And a great place to get around La Guarda
A really good spot for walking and cycling
The hotel room was clean and had everything we needed for 1 night along the camino.
It was also conveniently located near the shopping area. Reception was most helpful and ordered a taxi on my behalf.
Very new and clean accomodation. Great location, just close to the port with lots of restaurants. Owners were so kind!! I highly recommend this albergue if you in A Guarda!
The town and we thought that the standard and presentation of the hotel was better than the two star designation as it appears to be completely renovated fairly recently
