Friendly check in and out, friendly bar staff. Did not use restaurant but assume the same. Free sparkling water on every floor was a revelation! A little way out from old town and uphill but easily walked.

Very good central location in the old city, with tram right outside and subway two minutes walk away. Very good breakfast. The room was a good size and comfortable beds. TV lacked a phone jack for headphones.

Very reasonably priced. Excellent value for money. Spacious room by European standards. Firm bed for a good night's sleep. Plenty of hot water and great water pressure. A short drive from Bilbao airport. What else could you want? The front desk is only staffed until 9:30 p.m. but owners were very accommodating for our late arrival, providing the code to a lockbox for our room keys.

Staff were excellent and went out of their way to take care of us, especially great as we arrived tired on foot from walking on the Camino del Norte. Private use of the sauna and pool was a real highlight. The hotel was small and felt like a little sanctuary. Restaurant was delicious for both dinner and breakfast.
