The place was clean and the staff very polite and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The village is really small and we spent the night there only because it was convenient for our road trip. It was a good experience in a true local pub.

Alford is a small town/village, about 27 miles west of Aberdeen. There is one hotel/pub there closed on a Monday, and restaurant only open at weekends, bar meals all week except Monday There is a Bistro that is only open till about 5pm a Chinese takeaway, although on its web page says it is a restaurant too but this is not open, an Indian and fish/chip carry out places too but all close quite early. A few shops including a bakers and provision shop a pharmacy and a few others There is a large co-op supermarket as well. Places to visit Transport Museum and a heritage Centre.

The hotel is in a central location. The staff were excellent and customer service was first class. Even though there was a power cut during part of our stay the staff at the Hotel went out of their way to provide a great level of service.
