Lovely clean room & plenty of nice breakfast! I was recommended the hotel by friends who stay here regularly and very much appreciate it too!

Beautiful town with loads of independently run shops and a couple of restaurants. Great base for day trips further afield too such as the many picturesque beaches that are about 30 minutes by car. Beware of the roads. Incredibly narrow!

The hotel is about half an hour from Plymouth and is an ideal place for an overnight stop before catching the ferry to Santander. However it is surrounded by countryside although situated just off the main road. Other travellers staying were exploring the Dartmoor countryside either on bikes or walking.
The staff were very personable and attentive. We had an exceptional meal in the restaurant at night. The breakfast was good and our room was compact but adequate. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

Near to Buckfast Abbey which is well worth a visit and has undergone a thorough restoration.
On the very edge of Dartmoor and all the beautiful scenery and walks that it has to offer.
Easy access to Plymouth via A38. There is a steam train in Buckfastleigh that runs to Totnes where you can get a boat to Dartmouth.
Ashburton is famous for its Antique shops and the village itself is well worth a walk around'

Excellent location. Right on the edge of Dartmoor.
Excellent location. Right on the edge of Dartmoor. Peaceful and quiet.Easy distance to other towns and villages. Wildlife and beautiful scenery all around. A few pubs a short drive away which serve lovely meals.
Beautifully restored house in a convenient position to wander all of Ashburton's shops, galleries, pubs and cafes.
Well stocked house for self- catering, even charcoal for the BBQ has been provided. Fantastic space even with 8 of us staying. Two master bedrooms, another double and a twin. Three bathrooms and a downstairs toilet.
Ashburton is a quaint town close to the A38 and with easy access to Dartmoor.
The whole house is furnished with antiques and old paintings.
The staff really did make this place, the open fire also helped a bit. I thought I wasn't going to enjoy my stay as the accommodation is (only my view of course) a little dated and does need some updating. But, I very quickly put my initial thoughts on the back burner and saw a little beyond what I first saw.
All the staff are very professional, polite and courteous, a pleasure for me to have stayed I can tell you
Beautiful apartment with high ceilings, thoughtfully curated furniture, beautiful fittings and stunning attention to detail. Also brilliantly located in the heart of Ashburton. It's set back off the street so very quiet. Adrian was a lovely and very kind host and made us feel very at home and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. I cannot recommend this place enough!!
Upgraded on arrival to a bigger room. Excellent breakfast, restaurant/food and bar. Very reasonable prices. Room was clean, comfortable and everything worked. Staff were exceptionally friendly and hard-working. Plenty of car parking. Good location, close to moors, major routes and walking distance to Ashburton town centre.
The breakfast was excellent, served with a smile and tasted lovely every single morning.
Both of the hosts were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the local area.
Parking can be a little tricky in an older town like Ashburton, but we never parked more than about two minutes walk away.
The airstream was beautiful and had been decorated really nicely. Amazing to have a hot shower in the outdoors in the middle of nowhere. The hot tub was awesome! Loved the cows that came to see us. We could walk into Ashburton (but it's a long walk - not to be done lightly).
We were very fortunate that Gages Mill still had a room available for the Jubilee Weekend. The perfect place to stay to enjoy the Devon countryside but only a short walk into Ashburton. Expect a warm welcome, delicious breakfast and beautiful surroundings.
This is a nice two bedroom flat with a spacious living room and adequate kitchen. It's in the centre of Ashburton and very convenient for people wanting to tour the area. The owner, Michael, lives next door and he is a friendly and helpful person.
centrally placed on Ashburton's High Street close to shops and amenities. Spacious old property with lots of charm. Lofty ceilings. !5-minute walk to Ashburton Cookery School which was the reason for our stay.
Exactly what we were after - very relaxing location to use as a base for trips to Torquay, Paignton, Ashburton. Lovely hosts are nearby to help but unobtrusive - cannot recommend it enough really.
The location close to Ashburton town centre. The bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of storage space. The town wasn’t very busy considering it was August.
