Very welcoming and friendly hosts. The room was well-appointed and clean. The breakfast was excellent. It was located perfectly for walking as well as local amenities and, of course, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Great, pub in an amazing spot on he side of Esk valley. Welcoming and helpful staff. We were cyclists and docked a point for no lock up,but we coukd lock the bikes outside at the rear of the pub. Beer and evening meal excellent and its obviously a popular place- pretty busy even on a random Thursday.
Arncliffe Arms is located in Glaisdale, on the North Yorkshire Moors and on Wainwright’s famous Coast to Coast Walk. This bed and breakfast is set in a pretty garden.

The Witching Post was really comfortable, clean, food excellent and the staff really friendly. Pete the landlord was one of the nicest guys we have met. Prepare yourself for his jokes and banter!! Will definitely come back
Beautiful quirky scenic village with sheep roaming free.
Beautiful quirky scenic village with sheep roaming free. It is worth visiting for the steam trains, the Heartbeat connection and some lovely walks. If you stay it is a great base to explore the Whitby coastline.

Beautiful village very relaxing.
Beautiful village very relaxing. Lots of little cafes and shops. We ate at the Inn on the Moor, the food was excellent with plenty of choice. The North Yorkshire Moor Railway runs through the station at Goathland. The station is lovely and takes you back in time to the days of steam railways. There are many walks around the moors from the village [long and short].

A wonderful part of the countryside, if you are looking for peace and quiet it's perfect quite a tourist attraction but doesn't spoil the atmosphere. So many places nearby to keep you occupied if you like, steam trains, wonderful scenery, lovely walks or a short drive to Whitby for fish and chips.

Goathland is a unique place, a virtual timewarp so reminiscent for me of growing up in the 1960s. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking and with places like Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay just a short drive away, it's an ideal location to be based. My wife and I have stayed at The Goathland Hotel twice now and there is still more to see in this wonderful part of Yorkshire so we hope to return to do just that.

Just the most beautiful countryside, amazing moorlands full of beautiful scenery and wildlife. It is a quick drive to bigger centres such as Pickering, Whitby and other local towns crammed with character. There are so many places to walk, waterfalls, little lanes and big hills. Fantastic location. The steam train is fabulous; definitely worth the trip to the end of the line to see the scenery. Get kippers in Whitby…
We loved the little dog treat bags, blankets and feeding bowls for our dogs. Made us feel that they were very welcome. They even have dog treats and water bowls in the pub for the dogs to help themselves. I noticed that they tried not to put the dogs too close to each other at tables which was excellent thinking on their part. Breakfast was very good. We had dinner in the pub every night and throughly enjoyed the food. Can't thank the staff enough for their friendliness.
Absolutely brilliant 2 night stay - for 2 couples visiting on annual NYMR pullman dining train.
Fantastic location - central position close to Goathland Station, shops and rail trail.
Spotlessly clean accommodation - immaculate.
Delicious breakfast.
Gill and Dave are just lovely 😍 - the kindest and friendliest hosts, which made our stay very special ( Mum and Dad loved it). It was just like staying with your favourite family members.
Can't wait to return again.
The hotel has clearly undergone some refurbishment and the rooms are very pleasant and extremely comfortable. The hallways and public areas are a little more dated in appearance but still comfortable and clean. Food at dinner was good, and the breakfast was excellent, although they would benefit from using fresh bread instead of processed bread. The staff were all very pleasant and the lady we dealt with at reception was very accommodating.
The hotel was excellent, from check in to check out the staff were very friendly, pleasant and helpful.Facilities were good, lovely garden to enjoy a drink and take in the stunning scenery. We stayed in a junior suite which was tastefully done, just right. We didn't stay for dinner as we had made other plans but the breakfast was on a par with everything else, excellent. One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in for a long time.
Everything. Right from the warm welcome when we arrived to the long goodbye as we left, Gill and Dave are lovely hosts who made us feel like part of the family!
Breakfast cooked to order and done perfectly.
Beautiful room which was incredibly clean.
WiFi was a nice touch, we didn't use it very much but it worked well when we did.
We were given tips on the village and local attractions, including the pub down the road!
There is nothing not to like about the property and staff. From the moment we entered the hotel, nothing seemed to be too much trouble and all the staff were so friendly. Having 2 labradors can sometimes be an issue but in the room they had there doggie welcome packs and doggie breakfast too. The hotel is a credit to the owners and staff and have already booked for next year
All of it. The Guest House Gooseberry room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable 🏠
Angie and Rick were lovely hosts, and the breakfast was good. There were 2 hotels with excellent restaurants nearby for evening meals within walking distance. It was an excellent location to get to the coast.
The staff are beyond helpful and nice nothing was to much. They made my wife a special meal that wasn't on the menu because of her dietary needs.
Excellent Service and meals.
The Manager Anna and waitress Calley hope I spelt their names right made our stay memorable.
We had a room with a lovely view and enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant during the evening. The hotel is in a beautiful location in a stunning village. We are lucky to live only an hour away from Goathland.
Everything about our stay in Goathland was amazing- Fairhaven was the icing on the cake..spotless room - location breathtaking - brilliant breakfast set us up for the day. Sarah and Peter could not have done more.
The hotel is of the highest quality. The room was nicely furnished. Food and service in the restaurant was excellent. There is a good bar area and nice coffee shop outside. Plenty of parking
Staff very polite, reception very quick to reply to emails food brilliant can't fault any thing even the weather was pretty good nice views of the aidensfield arms on opposite side of road
My wife and I loved the location and hotel. The staff are polite and helpful. The food is very good and the breakfast just what is needed after an evening in the bar.
