We came to stay overnight for the bank holiday. Staff were really friendly made you feel at home and a lady we met who works there remembered us and welcomed us and said it was nice to see us which makes you feel at home. I’m not sure of her name but she is a petite lady with short blonde hair, lovely lady. Food was beautiful and weather on Saturday was fab .

A quirky but lovely find in Porthcawl. 2 minutes to the sea and all the town amenities. A comfortable room, (Kings Room on 2nd floor), with a bath in the room. Huge bed. Plenty of drawers and wardrobe space, coat hangers, continental breakfast items, free Welsh cakes, a glass of wine, chocolates and peace and quiet. Highly recommended but just don’t go when we want to go!

John Street is a charming traditional "High Street" with a good mix of shops. Porthcawl has some good pubs and restaurants and nice walks on the promenade. Great beaches too but it's the Bristol Channel so chilly most of the year...

Porthcawl is a traditional seaside town.
Porthcawl is a traditional seaside town. Full of friendly locals. Lovely pubs and cafes and the best ice cream ever from Sidoli's. Our favourite pubs for great food is the Salt Water Inn and the Globe. The Boat House is our favourite fish and chip shop. Always a queue as the fish is cooked to order. Worth the wait as it's delicious. Beautiful sandy beaches great for sandcastles. Donkey rides in the summer at Coney beach right next to the Funfair. At Rest Bay there is a surf school and a lovely restaurant with fantastic views. Also there is a great board walk with the beach on one side and a golf course on the other which then leads onto the coastal path. Porthcawl is a great base for visiting Cardiff Swansea and many other great places. Every week through the summer one of the local pubs puts on a great and free firework display down on the beach.

Not being able to walk very far.
Not being able to walk very far. We were able to enjoy the walk along the prom to the harbour. And there was a land train that you could take to go further afield. There were lots of cafes and restaurants.

Beautiful place with a lovely walk along seafront from Trecco Bay to harbour. Plenty of restaurants and shops a short walk down side streets from seafront. A lot of money spent and continuing investment in keeping Porthcawl modern. Aldi store being built near seafront. Plenty of activities for children including a funfair. First class fish and chips at Finnegans and Beales. Rest Bay car park with sea views and a new Watersports centre. Relaxing cuppa at Seabank hotel.
The bed in the King's Room was very comfortable and the residents lounge was most welcoming particularly with the complimentary wine. The bathroom in the King's Room was good and the shower worked well. My sister was in the French Room and they loved it. We thought that it was very nice too. So if you have a choice between the King's and the French Room we would recommend the French room. Annette was a very engaging host and I could not fault her hospitality. The location is excellent with easy access to the town
Great stay at 19 Mary Street as always. Easy check in/out, perfect location (seafront less than a minute away), shops, bars, restaurants within a couple of minutes too and a great fish and chip shop a street away-Finnegans (and another great one on the seafront-The Boathouse). Lovely comfy, cosy, spotlessly clean room (lovely decor), quiet hotel - perfect for a trip to Porthcawl. Thanks again Alice! ps. can also recommend a meal at the Harbour Bar & Kitchen - excellent food there with great views.

Finally having stayed in various accom only places these past few months in Porthcawl, this one is what i would expect.
Perfect in clean, tidy, well maintained and location, unlike so many other sub-standard basic guest houses, hotels and private houses.
There's a welcome pack of, tea, coffee, sugar milk and a few biscuits.
Other so called accom should take note, this is the standard.
We simply loved this property all around. Everything from the location, to the cleanliness, the amenities, and the comfort. The value we received was amazing. We had a great week visiting family nearby and visiting the beach in Porthcawl. We really loved it. This 4 bedroom home can sleep 8 and we were spoiled as a family of 4.
Great stay at 19 Mary Street as always. Lovely room, spotlessly clean, great shower, very comfy bed, lovely decor, quiet, easy check in/out, location is great, communications with host Alice is excellent. All in all a brilliant hotel to stay in in Porthcawl. Would thoroughly recommend!
We loved the character and charm of this place and all of the quirky and fun decor. The location is great with easy access to town, Trecco Bay and the beach. The owner is a lovely gentleman who always went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable.
This apartment is in one of the best locations in Porthcawl - close to the sea, with a sea view, close to the Grand Pavilion and adjacent to the town centre & beaches. It could be a great apartment all-round if a few simple improvements were made.
The location is excellent, right on the seafront. It’s a large, impressive and distinctly quirky hotel which is gradually being refurbished and is definitely an iconic building in Porthcawl.
Location ideal to take a scenic walk to Royal Porthcawl Golf Club for the Snr Open. Had a sea view room which is spacious and very comfortable. Great parking facility at the hotel.
A good place to have a holiday. Near to the town centre and beach.Emma who looked after us in the guest house was excellent.would definitely recommend for the person on a budget.
