Redcar is much like any other British sea side town, It is past its heyday but was clean, tidy with a good selection of shops and as we went for a night away from the day to day pressures of life it hit the spot. There is plenty to do depending on what you want, the Frosty penguins crazy golf is well worth a visit as well as the Stray cafe or the beach with a bucket and spade.

I'm biased because I grew up here but having been away for 38 years to return and see how amazing the town has become is brilliant.
The regenerated esplanade is fantastic and the beach as always is clean and golden. The view of the coastline without the steel works whilst strange to me, was actually very nice because as iconic as the works were they were a blot on a much underrated piece of England.
I married a southerner so unfortunately I no longer get to visit as often as I'd like but to be honest I could be tempted into divorce just to move back to Redcar.

Extensive sandy beaches, long promenades, delicious fish & chips shops, great for dogs (but NB, the central part of beach bans dogs in summer until 30th September) Archetypal Victorian English seaside resort-town - but sadly dilapidated in many parts, and needing major investment.
Some of the populace along the coastal strip appear to be in a precarious state - and maybe the closure of the main industries in the region over recent decades are the cause of this. Half-a-mile inland is Corporation Road, running roughly parallel to the promenade, with nice houses, a lovely park ( with a dedicated Dog-Shop) - almost a different world to the seafront buildings.
Teesmouth National Nature Reserve nearby, and the Industrial profile of massive structures, in the distance further up the coast. But wildlife is unconcerned about visual aesthetics of course. Lots of wading birds all along the beaches - sanderlings, turnstones -- etc

The Esplanade is pleasant to walk along, with plenty of seating. There are a few amusement arcades but as a seaside resort it is quite low-key.
There are plenty of shops and restaurants -we particularly like the Lemon Tree Thai restaurant. & Daisy May tea rooms. Lots of fish & chip shops, they seem to be round every corner!

We were lucky with sunny weather so we could wander round the town. Great Brazilian cafe for breakfast and lovely Thai restaurant both on the main street.
Interesting to look round the traditional old boats and their matching painted tractors
Shame the vertical pier was closed at the top but nice historical photos on the walk upwards. Do stop at Pacitto's for the local delicacy of lemon top icecream. 😀
It’s a handy location very close to the seafront, shops and restaurants. Decor is quirky and a refreshing change from so many faceless hotels we’ve stayed in lately, but a few impracticalities let the place down. The kitchen is small and basic, though fairly well equipped. The cottage sleeps 4 but thankfully there were only 2 of us as the lounge does not really seat 4. As per another review, the place was really hot when we arrived but we realised after an uncomfortable night that the heating was on 24/7 so we reprogrammed it.
Very comfortable bed .great location ,very clean had everything we needed had fantastic time .nice and pieceful during the night able to get good night sleep. would recommend this apartment for anyone wantng to stay in redcar would like to say thank you to the owners for letting us stay at cozy stays .It stands to it's name lovely and cozy from Denise & ,Freddy Evans
Seaside Haven Hotel exceeded expectations. Ideal location with a clean, spacious room, and the beach just steps away. Convenient shops nearby, hassle-free parking, and a gracious owner who allowed for a stress-free late check-out. A perfect blend of comfort and convenience, highly recommended!
Great location close to the station and sea front.
Steve is a fantastic host and the guest house/room were spotlessly clean.
Bus stop for Saltburn, Staithes and Whitby a short walk away.
O'Grady's Ale House on the same street does great pub food and the locals a really friendly bunch.
Great little apartment, well equipped. Modern and great location in Redcar. We stayed for visiting family and it’s a central location. Easy access and the house keeper is extra lovely and when we needed something, she was quick to help and make sure we were comfortable and happy.
Brilliant staff very professional friendly helpful very clean tidy room to stay in, was delicious food and service was great the hotel its self was very clean and had a lovely atmosphere and friendly guests the hotel staff went above and beyond to help us enjoy are stay 😊
It felt like a boutique hotel, very modern facilities sympathetically a placed in a very old building . Great breakfast and so nice to have my gluten allergy catered for ( often places remove breakfast items without giving a replacement but not here 😁)
Excellent location in Redcar, close to the centre. The room was very comfortable. Good shower. Kettle, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and mugs provided, milk upon request. Quick check-in. The owner, Lloyd, took the time to show me to my room.
Fantastic property, small but perfectly formed with everything you need, lovely host. On a lovely quiet road very close to the center. We had a nice walk by the racecourse to the Turners Mill pub for dinner, dog friendly which was great.
Room was very clean, comfortable and well stocked with all you need for your stay.
Friendly and helpful hosts on hand for anything you need during stay.
Great location for Redcar centre, beachfront and exploring wider area.
Love Redcar and have stayed with this company before and had a lovely time but in different accommodation to this one, accommodation was mainly clean but not as requested, the accommodation was lovely and warm, very modern.
The room was cosy and clean and comfortable with good facilities , hotel is in an excellent central location, it had a shared bathroom which was clean modern and spacious. Generally a good place to stay in lovely Redcar.
The hotel is in a fantastic location on the seafront. The room was quite small but it was clean and comfortable. The lady on reception was very friendly and allowed us to check in early, as our room was ready.
This is a really nice hotel , lovely room, nice facilities including the use of kitchen downstairs, nice en suite bathroom, it was a nice place to stay in and very close to the seafront.
The hotel let me check in quite early, and gave me a room with a sea view. The room was big enough for a one night stay and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
