The room was large, comfortable, lovely light from outside - with old windows, but they had a sliding glass screen that also shut - to cut out any noise - which was great! All the furniture looked modern and IKEA style - refreshing. The linen was white and we found it very clean. The bathroom was not ensuite - but it was literally next door and we had our own bathroom which was clean and also fresh. I would just mention - this was on the 3rd floor so anyone who can't do steps! must be aware of this.

The staff contacted me to double check my booking. I had asked if a breakfast bag could be made as we were leaving early. They were more than accommodating. A nearby hotel was offering a room with two single beds for a little cheaper but knowing the quality of service and the fact we could have double beds at this property, it is more than worth it.

The set up in the room, which was excellent with everything you could want. Meals were produced really close to the rooms, the food was delicious, the staff couldn’t do enough to help. They were also very friendly.

It’s a beautiful location with a lot of history and a deep peacefulness. I stayed here in 2012 and 2014, in 2013 my aunty had a big party here, and I stayed with my partner in 2018 and 2019. It’s quite good value. I was considering having my 40th here but have been put off by the below. The man who helped my Dad was kind, and I apologise for not tipping, if I ever come again I’ll bring cash. My room was really beautiful and the big bathroom was so spacious, with a great walk in shower. The lady who brought breakfast was absolutely lovely. I generally don’t like writing anything negative online so if Rushton were to get in touch with me and develop their dietary and disability approach I would add a more positive update.

Staff were very good , I misplaced the key card and at 1.30 am had to phone to be let in, after a security check they let us in with a smile, so no complaints from us, our room was small but that was our choice, plenty of coffee and milk, can't grumble for what we paid ,VFM
