Lovely hotel off the beaten path. It is an amazing place if you want to get out of a city and are looking for a cozy, quaint place to rest. The owners are incredibly kind and lovely. They greeted us, recommended places to eat, helped with travel plans, and had a lovely conversation with us over breakfast.
This hotel was wonderful. 10/10, can highly recommend.

Hokuto is a bit of an off-the-beaten-track destination,...
Hokuto is a bit of an off-the-beaten-track destination, perfect for a weekend or even 3 or four days. Surrounded by beautiful nature, it's a great place for hikers - since it's located at the base of the Yatsugatake mountain range. The adventurers can go explore the hiking trails and waterfalls, but also there are charming cafes, art galleries and international cuisine restaurants splattered in the area. I would avoid going there by car on a Saturday morning, because the Chuo Express Road gets packed and it may take up to six hours to get there from Tokyo (the normal is 2 hours). So if you can, go on a weekday.
Staff is lovely, going above and beyond. We accidentally left behind some items when we checked out and the hotel is sending those items to us through the mail.
As before, on our first visit here, the staff was SO kind to us and our dog. The breakfast is amazing and there are so many things to do in this part of Yamanashi. Having an onsen in the hotel is so nice after a day of hiking. Uchu brewing down the hill is a perk as well...
Cozy and comfy, located in a quiet area. Spacious bedroom, has an adjacent living room with two sofas. Basic amenities are provided. Wi-Fi signal is OK. Friendly and helpful owner. Strict Covid-19 prevention measures are followed, such as temperature check on check-in and before entering the breakfast restaurant. There are disinfectants in the room and all around the hotel. Parking space is available. Thank you very much!
The dinner and breakfast is good. The public bath they have is private and first come first use basis. We came in late so no one in use. Got two public bath. Each can be used for two persons. The hot water is very good in the public bath. Hot enough , feels so good after a long ride. The decor of the hotel very American lodge . Lots of black records on the wall, feels like Texas style 😎
Stunning architecture and a beautiful property in Hokuto. The staff went over and beyond to make sure we were comfortable; they drove us to and from locations and even booked restaurants for us when requested. The breakfast was yum, the rooms were absolutely beautiful and the onsen was magical. It was a treat to be right next to the Keith Haring museum which was also fantastic.

This hotel was wonderful. 10/10, can highly recommend.
I was a bit skeptical at first, especially once I encountered the entrance of the hotel, however I was pleasantly surprised after! I was welcomed by a nice and friendly host and the rooms were very clean. All amenities were provided in abundance, which was really nice. The building faces the station, but you don't hear the passing trains at all.
Beautiful hotel, spacious rooms with modern and stylish interior. Huge bed and very comfortable pyjamas. Staff were very kind and helpful. Dinner option A was plenty and delicious, breakfast was also very good and big! We really enjoyed the private onsen, especially the large cooler bath was perfect in summer!
The place was cozy. The reception was great as well. We booked the hotel with travel coupons so it was quite affordable. The booking came with a half board. I was expecting a plain meal but when we had it, it was exceptional. It was a five-star experience. We had a lovely stay.
Truly great experience! The design of the hotel is beautiful and intriguing, the room is classy, spacious with bright opnings on nature. The private onsen is a fabulous experience (after 14 years in Japan), the diner was very good, the breakfast in the room was delicious.
It is a very big hotel with a good price. Loved the outdoor onsen. Loved the child friendly toys at the entrance. Loved the room is child friendly, with mattress on the floor. Loved the star observatory.
