Lovely hotel off the beaten path. It is an amazing place if you want to get out of a city and are looking for a cozy, quaint place to rest. The owners are incredibly kind and lovely. They greeted us, recommended places to eat, helped with travel plans, and had a lovely conversation with us over breakfast.
This hotel was wonderful. 10/10, can highly recommend.

Hokuto is a bit of an off-the-beaten-track destination, perfect for a weekend or even 3 or four days. Surrounded by beautiful nature, it's a great place for hikers - since it's located at the base of the Yatsugatake mountain range. The adventurers can go explore the hiking trails and waterfalls, but also there are charming cafes, art galleries and international cuisine restaurants splattered in the area. I would avoid going there by car on a Saturday morning, because the Chuo Express Road gets packed and it may take up to six hours to get there from Tokyo (the normal is 2 hours). So if you can, go on a weekday.VillageOneJapan

We accidentally left behind some items when we checked out and the hotel is sending those items to us through the mail. As before, on our first visit here, the staff was SO kind to us and our dog. The breakfast is amazing and there are so many things to do in this part of Yamanashi. Having an onsen in the hotel is so nice after a day of hiking.
