The view over the mountains is fabulous. The vegetation, birds, mountain monks chanting some where far, made it a real spiritual return to nature. The journey there through jungle and tea plantations made it a safari adventure. We were alone apart from the lovely staff, which made it a special escape under the starry sky and fire flies dancing in the night.

Ella all in all has low standards of hotels. This one also need some renovation. But the manager try to do the best job and he is kind. I saw that people who works there do their best with garden etc. Swimming pool is small but perfect to chill. Really good location- walking distance to Nine Arches Bridge and Main Street with restaurants.

The Residence Ella was perfect for my stay in Ella. Thimira was very friendly and super accommodating to me during my entire stay. It was less than a 10 min walk to Ella which made it really easy to get in and out. Breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend this property!
