The island has a couple of local villages that pollute the ocean and the island / plastic litter is everywhere and in the water. There are no shops or things to do on the island. There is no clinic or access to health care in an emergency.

It took 30mins from the Jetty to the island.
It took 30mins from the Jetty to the island. The boat ride was fast, but will be a prob to some people with motion sickness. Prepare your own meds because the reception doesn’t have medic kit. Bring your own panadol, sunblock and anything essential. Snorkelling was beautiful, and the kayak was great. ATV could have been fun if they allowed us to go further. The food was awesome, local dishes like sweet & sour chicken, black pepper beef etc. Other activities like banana boat, diving etc will be charged on the spot so bring extra cash.

There were certain stretches that were just full of rubbish, 90% of which were plastic bottles. Unfortunately, I have to say the kampung area where the locals live was the dirtiest with the shoreline filled with trash, diapers, light bulbs and broken glass. Would be great to see efforts by the island community to organise gotong-royongs or Trash Hero activities on the beach at least once a month. It would make such a huge difference.Kathleen
