Stunning view, and well thought gardens with lots of native plants. The birdlife - swallows, waxeyes, fantails and dunnocks right by our deck. And the motel cat, Murdoch (hopefully she doesn't catch them).
Seascape Accommodation has 3 modern apartments, all fitted with quality furnishings, free WiFi, a Smart TV and views across the ocean to the Nugget Point Lighthouse.

Very comfortable and tastefully decorated with great attention to detail. There was nothing else we could have wished for. 10/10 for choccy's too!

A lovely beach with a cafe/shop/restaurant so ideal for families. Easy to reach nugget point from there. Bear in mind it’s at the eastern end of the Catlins so if you want to explore places further west, eg Curio Bay, you will have quite a drive. On the other hand Balclutha is only a 15 min drive which is handy for stores and food shopping.

Beautiful location and very close to Nugget Point Lighthouse which is a must see for all travellers. Would have liked to stay longer and try swimming. The beaches looked very inviting. Clifftop views around the lighthouse are breathtaking

Lovely location, close to Nugget point.
Lovely location, close to Nugget point. The local cafe was lovely. No petrol stations, nowhere to get breakfast you have to travel to balclutha or Owaka for breakfast if you don’t self cater. Great place to locate yourself while in the catlins

Stunningly beautiful with Sandy beaches and sea lions. Just a fabulous area not to be missed for nature lovers. Short drive to the nuggets and roaring beach with a chance to see the yellow eyed penguins. (Dawn /dusk) but bring bino’s.

Really peaceful place - great accommodation, host, garden and beach view - thoroughly recommended- if you’re on a road trip take 2 or 3 days to unwind here - take food to cook if going on a Sun or Mon as restaurant in town currently shut then- we thought that would bother us but with a good kitchenette and views to die for from the dining table and the outside furniture we were VERY happy staying ‘home’

A lovely spacious apartment.
A lovely spacious apartment. Very clean and comfortable with amazing views. A pub restaurant within a couple of minutes walk but not open on a Monday. We were there on a Monday!! Luckily we had food with us 😁 Nugget point is visible in the distance and is an easy drive away. Well worth a visit.
It was in a central location in Kaka point on the road above the esplanade with beautiful views (unit 1) and fully self contained with a very helpful host Although it was on the level above the beach their were steps down to the beach and the main bar and cafe were almost right next to the beach access. When you woke up in the morning we opened the curtains before sunrise as almost every day there was a beautiful sunrise directly in front of us.
Kaka Point apartments was an exceptional property. It was like a model home. Beautifully furnished, clean, modern bathroom, plenty of tea and coffee, towels etc. The view from the apartment was stunning. We watched a sea lion on the beach one evening. We kept the curtains open at night so we could see the nighttime sky. It was just a short walk down to the beach. Wish we had stayed longer. Everything was perfect and even better than that.
This is a wonderful studio apartment with a fantastic view of the ocean. It has a wonderful porch in front to enjoy coffee or a glass of wine, enjoying the view. There is breakfast (a great one) left in the fridge to prepare each morning. The place is sparkling clean and beautifully set up. And the hosts are lovely, welcoming couple. I highly recommend it.
We received such a warm welcome from Norm and a bonus tour and tasting at his brewery! (Highly recommend trying the Earl Grey flavoured beer.) The view of the sea from the sleepout window was lovely and we saw a sea lion on the beach at Kaka Point as well as a yellow-eyed penguin at Roaring Bay!
After making several reservations across NZ, we were surprised to find this gem in the mix for a similar price to the others. The space was beautifully clean and modern with the beach directly across the street from the front deck. I wish we had planned to stay longer!
Jenny was extremely friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was lovely, very clean, had very comfortable bed and had a spectacular view. There was a short walk to town and the beach. Jennie provided exceptional recommendations to optimize our time and experience.
Family Ties is a cosy, very well-equipped cottage. It is backed by bush and has a view to the sea. It is easy walking distance to The Point restaurant. The cottage provides a relaxing and welcoming base for family to enjoy Kaka Point and surrounds.
The facility is amazing, and feels like home away from home. To top it up, the host provides the best service, and every single tiny gesture is well thought of. Simply the best accommodation we have stayed in, in New Zealand.
Spacious house steps to the ocean. Fantastic beds and bedding. Great shower with plenty of pressure. Completely stocked kitchen. I know it is a cliche, but our best stay in 3 trips to New Zealand!
Great studio, very good location in Kaka Point with superb sea view. Friendly hosts. Great location to explore Nugget Point, Owaka and nearby beaches with sea lions, and yellow-eyed pinguins.
Really lovely apartment with a fantastic view. Very spacious and comfortable, lovely deck to sit out on too. With the makings of a basic breakfast supplied it couldn't have been beaten.
