Svartsö is a corner of heaven that's fallen on earth. The stf hostel is a good place to explore this little island by bike, hiking, sailing or even swimming. It's functional, located 1 minute from the ferry dock. Bring your own food (or you'll have to eat frozen dinners found on location, book them to guarantee). They have bikes, but the nearest (and only) shop is 20 minutes away.

Rooms are small but charming. Friendly chatty helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Good spread, even though there weren't many guests. Was able to get key earlier than expected and leave later than expected. Access to a fridge and microwave in the breakfast room was good (even if we discovered it a bit late).

The cottages allow to visit Grinda and neighbouring islands. I guess they are equivalent to any other cottage on other islands of the archipelago from what we could see ! Which means that there is no water inside the cottage, and one has to cope with the smelly dry toilets !

The Breakfast was perfect . The night meal was amazing.
Location was so beautiful and peaceful , i walk up a Hill and the view from there was spectacler and ive been in Sweden for 3 weeks and it was not until i looked at this view of the arcapalego that i relised i was in Scandanaviaa . Im from Australia and i hope to return next year or at least every other year..
Lastly i think it is amazing the school group that lives on the ground s where very well behaved and the phyical education teahers are super Nice. As well as the younger school ground.
