Berehove is great for the following: food, wineries, thermal springs. And most people are very friendly and helpful. The only thing is, as a small place, it lacks much to do in evening, with many places closing quite early. A lot of asbestos - fences and roofs are made from asbestos.
A lot of asbestos - fences and roofs are made from asbestos. If people repair it, they just throw it away in front of house - you then breath it. And later, roma people (gypsies) take it away. Nobody is using any special tools :-(

We came to Berehove for the thermal baths which are...
We came to Berehove for the thermal baths which are wonderful! Unbeknownst to us, Zakarpattiye Thermal Complex was closed for 9 of the days we were there due to cleaning. So we went to Zhavyvoronok Thermal Complex instead which has much better facilities even though some of them were also closed for several days due to cleaning. Berehove badly needs a tourist information center. The current one is a pastry shop.

The owners were very friendly and shared their experience with us about the town, the pools, and places to eat. Natalia prepared very yummy breakfasts (especially syrniki) and Bogdan gave us a ride till the train station. Very friendly people and great location.
