I highly recommend staying at the Hotel Ternopil for the best view of the lake and continually visiting the city center for great restaurants and cafes. Outside of the center, Kovcheg and Stariy Miln are outstanding theme restaurants that must not be missed! Although there are many parks and museums throughout the city, I find that just sticking to the main square or the lake are all you need to enjoy Ternopil.MattUkraine - 10Scored 10

A very tranquil and meditative city that I enjoyed a lot, especially after Kyiv. A picturesque lake with nearby parks alone make the city worthy of visiting. Easy to navigate without a map. Truely historical beautiful centre. If the weather was better (almost November), would definitely enjoy the parks more which I imagine are wonderful in hot weather. Do not visit during rainy weather - or live on the top of the hill, so that water does not splash at you when you walk up the streets leading to the city centre. Optimal duration of stay: weekend/3 days max.

It looks like a small Britain colony which left 100 yrs ago and now city tries to leave their own life but with not so fast tempo as big megapolises which is fun to stay here for a few days if you want to enjoy nice food, drink and music.

What a beautiful city. It's a gem that needs to be explored.
What a beautiful city. It's a gem that needs to be explored. Large lake in the middle of Ternopil, stunning parks, lots of cafes and restaurants. The locals are friendly. Take a boat trip around the lake. Then take a walk in Shevchenko park exploring its little bridges and islands. Climb up the lit-up water steps into the city. Sit down with a coffee overlooking the Dominican Cathedral. Soak up the atmosphere! Unforgettable!
