This is a gem of a hotel. Staff are all fabulous and look after your every need. Breakfast delivered to your room is an excellent touch and those cookies, I have never tasted anything so awesome! I was upgraded to a suite taking my stay to 10/10.

Paige, Morgan and Nick were so friendly and accommodating. Beds and pillows very comfortable. But THAT VIEW and the sound of the ocean waves lulling you to sleep is indescribable. It was such perfect stay. Highly recommend

The owners were very kind. We had a 15 passenger van that they did not have much parking for. They found us a spot and kept a cone in it so no one else would park there.

We paid an upgraded price for a balcony room right on the ocean. We were given a balcony with a rooftop and peak a boo view of the ocean.
Our television only had one station
$45 charge for valet parking and they left my car unlocked in the alley most of the night.
I will not use Booking.com or recommend or go to this hotel ever again.

We enjoyed the laid back welcoming energy of the locals as well as other travelers.
Spring time was a better time for us to visit, seemed to be less busy!
We were impressed by the cleanliness' of the streets, parks and beaches as well as appreciated the free local trolley bus that took us back n forth between the south and north areas of Laguna Beach.
So many beautiful things to take in but overall we felt safe and relaxed which gave us a wonderful experience.
We will return to experience everything that we didn't have the time to!

Crowded on weekends, but one of the nicest beaches in the world. The town is being over-run with tourists and the arty vibe is suffering from this. We found the restaurants middling and very expensive. Really recommend visiting off season or during the week.

Felt very safe and there were so many interesting art galleries and eateries in town. Many people had to queue for at least half hour at Gelato Paradiso for the ice cream. We were lucky as there was no queue around 7pm.
We were travelling to Laguna Beach from Bannings. OMG, we were caught in many toll roads. Couldn't pay online as the system didn;t accept rental cars. Set your maps to non-toll roads if you want to avoid these.

We love Laguna beach’s which are stunning n the downtown is very nice with many restaurants n shops. We had breakfast at Moulins a French place which is excellent. We have frequented Laguna beach several times as we love it here. Many beautiful beaches. Heisler park is a very nice Park overlooking the water n have steps down to the coves. Laguna beach also has a free trolley which goes up the coast up to Dana point and into town. Great place!

A fun little beach town with so much to see and do!
A fun little beach town with so much to see and do! I only had one night there, but would love to go back. It's very walkable with lots of restaurants, shops and art galleries. The coast is diverse with plenty of sandy beaches and many rocky areas with tide pools as well.
This listing is a bait and switch. One side is a small boutique hotel called the 14 West, but it is actually connected to an old Hilton Inn, which is run down and looks like a cheap motel. We paid for a $200+ room at the 14 West Laguna Beach but were told to go to the Hilton Inn to check in and we’re given a room at that location, which was old, run down, smelled bad, and the staff seemed to be spraying rooms for bugs.
Pictures are not at all what the hotel is. Very bad, dirty, unkept room we received. It was outdated and unsanitary. Unfortunately they are taking advantage of people with the amount they charged a night. Staff is very kind but whoever makes decision on the rooms is terrible. I would like to ask the owner to stay in our room with their family for 550 a night. Coming from Vegas, it is totally unacceptable.
The BEST location in Laguna Beach! You are literally a block from the beautiful picnic beach, no difficult intersections. You can park your car and forget it as there is grocery store 5 minute walk as well as restaurants. Also walkable to the main beach where you will find a plethora of surf shops, restaurants, art galleries and boutiques. The ambiance of the property is amazing.
The Tides is an affordable choice in Laguna Beach and is perfect for the solo traveller - especially when you don't have a car. Everywhere is walking distance and a stop for the Laguna Trolley Bus is across the road (as is the beach). I was very happy and in my element. Art Galleries and Art museums galore!
I love how inviting and comfortable that it is.
It is a vintage, retro hotel with a surfer vibe that reminds me of the early days of Laguna Beach.
My room had wonderful views of the beach and was very comfortable to stay in. I loved the hospitality of the staff and how nice the room was to stay in.
Really sweet new hotel in the heart of Laguna. The location is unbeatable. I easily parked right on the street in front although private parking was available . Great toiletries and easy checkin. I’ll definitely return. I liked it better than their other property in Laguna!
View was one of the best views I’ve seen from a U.S. hotel. Felt like we were right over the water. Housekeeping tidied our room every day even though we’re pretty late risers. Front desk was very friendly especially overnight when we had to check in after 10pm
With a very short walk to a lovely beach cove and a most stylish and comfy room (Auric, with very pretty view), we loved our stay at the Joaquin Hotel. Breakfast (included with the room) was wonderful. Overall, it was a delight to be here!@
The hotel is very well located, comfortable and the best if it is the beautiful landscape. You can hear the sea from your room while you sleep. The breakfast is ok, you can eat the basic food. I absolutely recommend the hotel.
The ONLY thing we like was obviously being right on the water/ocean view. We had to fight for it though! The photos displayed are "stock" photos according to hotel manager. Not the same room whatsoever!
Beautiful ocean view room and balcony! Can’t beat the view. Bed was very comfortable. Room was small but great storage/lots of shelving. Hotel is on the best most gorgeous trail in Laguna if you ask me!
Amazing view of the beaches in Laguna Beach, clean apartment with all the necessary amenities. Very peaceful area to live in. I highly recommend spending a few days there for total relaxation!
The location is excellent, there is a trolley stop right in front of the hotel that takes you to Laguna Beach or Dana point. A beautiful park and the Beach cross the street.
This is an iconic hotel. The location is world class. Service is outstanding. The food is very good. Pool rocks. And you are on the beach. On it. I love staying here.
Amazing hotel, perfect for a little getaway. It's a relaxing place with a nice pool and a private sauna. The rooms are nice and the staff is very friendly.
Very pretty hotel. Beautiful clean and comfortable rooms. We had a balcony with a lovely view. Location was great to walk to beach and restaurants/shops.
The hotel is in a great location. Right across the main street from Cresent Bay Beach. The hotel provided chairs, boogie boards, etc but they go quickly.
