Situated in a peaceful location at 2,000 metres above sea level, the Geierwallihof is 2 km from the Vent Ski Area in the Ötz Valley.
“This an excellent family run hotel with true Austrian hospitality. The food is both generous and of a high quality. The staff can not do enough for you and if you get a chance to take a nature walk with Hubert, take it! His knowledge is exceptional and is rewarding even if you don't speak German. The hotel is at the end of the road so its location is quiet and perfect for nature walks with opportunities to see wildlife such as deer and chamois. But several ski fields (Solden, Obergurgle) are in within 20kms. After a snowfall, the road can be tricky but it is ploughed frequently and the hotel will happily taxi you to the ski bus. For this area, it is exceptionally good value.”

Surrounded by the Ötztal Alps, this guesthouse in Vent is just 100 metres from the Stableinbahn Cable Car. Hiking and mountain bike trails start right outside.
“I booked a room in the beginning of october, when the summerseason in the mountains is over and all the other hotels and restaurants close until mid-december for the winterseason. After night 1 of 3, I was the only remaining guest in the pension (and in the whole of Vent too, I think). Reservations are room+breakfast only, no lunch or dinner. When the very kind lady heard that the night before I had searched the whole village to find something to eat, she offered me extra bread, meat, cheese and a banana to take with me. If I needed tea or coffee, she assured me I just had to ask for it. Since I travelled alone and the other rooms were not occupied, she even gave me a reduction on the price for the room ! Great ! The bed was comfortable, the room with balcony, sofa and equiped kitchen was very much all I needed. Breakfast was also 'in Ordnung'. If I ever go back to Vent, I will without a doubt book a room in Pension Elisabeth again.”

“I liked everything about this place. It is very cozy and the owner is very hospitable. The bed is super comfy, the room is equipped by evth you need. Breakfast is quite enough to fill one before the active day on the slope. There is a place to park your car and to store your skiing equipment. The owner knows everything about Vent and the surrounding cities. She is ready to answer any of your questions and help you to have a great vacation. Thank you, Barbara!! Vent itself is a small treasure hidden somewhere high in the mountains. Don't lock yourself at home during the evening. Go to the touristic info office and you will be suprised by a range of activities which are organized here in the evenings.”

Set in the Ötz valley and closed in by the mountains of Ramolkogel and Wildspitze, Zirmhof Appartements offers self-catering accommodations. A sauna is available on site.
“Went to Zirmhof for winter sport. Hotel owners super helpful and friendly, could not do enough to make the stay as pleasant as possible. All facilities within short walking distance as described in other comments. Vent as a base for skiing is great, at least for beginners and intermediate skiers. All ski-lift, shop and restaurant staff are super friendly and helpful. For advanced skiing the resort of Soelden and Obergurgl are a short car or bus drive away (bus services very good and frequent, everything is organised around the skiing). Due to the altitude the ski-season in Vent can run into May, at least for the higher slopes (> 2300m). In the village itself (1900m) it may stop sooner but all is done to keep the slopes open for as along as possible.”
