“I liked the location. It was on the edge of Turpan in a relatively quiet area surrounded by grape vineyards. I ran each morning at sunrise and the Tian Shan were visible in the distance from the property—and beautiful. At sunset, the mountains were even more astounding. It was a short walk to the Sugong Tower (Emin Tower) from the Lodge. The museum and main part of town were a bit further away, walkable but better to do by taxi during the heat of the day. Most of the sites I wanted to see were outside the city--Jiaohe Ruins and Bezeklik--so I negotiated with a taxi. (The hotel was willing to find me a driver, too.)As for my room (king), it was spacious and comfortable.”
