“Located on the best beach in the Tribugá Gulf (Guachalito), La Joviseña is a hotel in the middle of nature with large wooden cabins, beautiful gardens, restaurant with local food and excellent equipment. It is perhaps the only formal hotel in the area owned by locals and with 100% local equipment. During the 4 days we were, Bejamin (the owner), Celina, Asmeth and the whole team, we had the experience at another level. The reception with coconut water, the WONDERFUL meals, the spacious and cozy cabins, the beach, the green, the location, the cleanliness, the place itself, we loved. As a suggestion: book the accommodation with Booking and pay directly to its owner. There is no need to make any reservation in advance, but yes, bring enough cash. This allows them to have more flexibility in your vacations for all the activities in the area. Asking at the airport, a boat booked by another tourist offered to take us even for the same price as the public boat (that is, there is no need to book). The worst case scenario is a public boat that leaves every day. For the meal it is arranged directly with the hotel: by the way, the best meals in all the 10 days we were in the region with fresh fish and fruits. As a recommendation of activities: one day we went to Coqui for lunch at the Zotea restaurant (community venture with food from another level!) And we walked back across the bay. Another went to see Whales and then we stopped at Hot Springs Termales, returning on foot to the hotel. Around the hotel there is a not very deep place where you can snorkel. If you want to know the Pacific and disconnected, this is your place!”

“Location is amazing. It is worth the long trip to get here. You will find an untouched piece of land full of nice landscapes. We loved walking through the long virgin beaches, discovering rivers, waterfalls, small towns, all sort of animals and plenty of pelicans flying all day long. The room was clean, confortable and stylish. Miguel and Andres have been outstanding hosts. They have not only helped in everything (including flight arrangements) and shared all their knowledge about the region but also treated us as old friends. Thank you both ! And the food and service were delicious !!! Worth to mention as well that there are only few mosquitos despite being next to the jungle. Beach in front of the hotel is clean and playful. The whole family enjoyed the crabs, the waves, the sand and the sunset Whales watching is another interesting activity in the region Finally, I want to mention that the Kuka takes really good care of the environment, leaving only footprints on the beach. Well done guys! The world would be a better place if all the hotels would do the same work as you! We will definitely come back and recommend to our friends ! Gracias amigos !!!”

“Highly recommend Piedra Piedra. Location was great, the food was great, and the beds were super comfortable. Perfect relaxing place with beaches pretty much to yourself and other guests. Claudia was lovely and communicated soon after I booked my reservation up until my arrival and made everything very easy. The tours (Jovi) were also well organized and worth doing. Would definitely (hopefully) go back.”

“Nena our host was so nice and took care of everything. Tea or coffee whenever, meals were delicious (fresh fish everyday), and helped us get a boat back to Nuqui. There are hammocks, private rooms, and shared bathroom. All beds had mosquito net. Thank you! You’ll need to take a 30-45 min boat to Termales. Where flip flops cause your feet will get wet when you arrive. When you get to Termales just walk down the main road. You will see the sign on the front of the two story house, or just ask anyone in town.”
