“Tango Mar was a dream come true! Our family was very fortunate to stay here recently over Christmas and Tango Mar exceeded our expectations. The facility itself was spectacular with exceptionally clean rooms and grounds..it looked like something from the movies! However, the most impressive experience during our stay were the exceptional staff that really makes this accommodation/business a 10 out of 10. We were greeted joyously by the front counter staff (Jesse) who informed us as to where we could find some Scarlet Macaws on the property...also Javier at the bar was exceptional and made our stay fantastic..thank you for such an incredible stay!”

“The villas are spacious, quiet in a lovely rural setting. Howler monkeys in the distance and hundreds of birds. We happened to be staying at the property when there were no other guests. It felt like our own piece of heaven. We had 4 hammocks with our villa to choose from - lovely set up!”

“The energy of the place just spectacular. The staff was exceptionally helpful and accommodating. There is a fantastic upstairs deck and treehouse to watch the birds, the monkeys, the sunrise, do yoga and just enjoy pleasant evenings and mornings. We walked along a short forested path past a turtle sanctuary to the beach and the small village of Tambor. Excellent food is served at the Blue Zone's small Cafe and pizzeria. The owners, Mark and Holly, are available, friendly, kind and very helpful.”

“If you are not snobbish and do not aspire to elitism, Barcelo Tambor is a great place to vacation. The Tambor bay and beach are unspoiled and scenic, the sea water temperature vey pleasant, the Barcelo facilities nicely designed, its grounds carefully landscaped, and the food vey good for a mass tourism establishment. I had a great stay at a comparatively reasonable price. Two final positive notes. Next to Barcelo Tambor is a small airport which has in and out regular avionette connections with SJO airport. At Barcelo you can book a snorkeling or scuba diving trip to the nearby Tortuga Island or a visit to the Caño Natural Reserve, both of them worthy day excursions.”
