“We loved this bright,airy, cheerful top floor mini vacation apartment with its timbered , architecture.It is well equipped and lovingly put together.It was an easy walk to all locations within the old city.The owner of this accommodation also owns the restaurant on the lower level of the building.Patrons are quiet and the restaurant is mainly open in the evenings and weekends.We did not eat there because my wife has food allergies.There is also a large beer hall across the road.In summer it is best to close the windows on that side of the street to enjoy a peaceful sleep.If you are a light sleeper, ear plugs are recommended.The windows are very sound proof.Erfurt is a very vibrant city in the summer time.During good weather you can expect everyone to be enjoying all the outdoor venues.It is wonderful to see young and old outside enjoying themselves in the multitude of cafes, parks and restaurants.This is a treat for Canadians.There is also a flea market on the Cathedral square.Sewing and decorating must be popular in and around Erfurt because you never saw so many fabric sales people in your life.My wife bought sofa decorating pillow cases and I got a leather wallet for a very good price.We enjoyed our time in Erfurt mainly because our accommodation was so excellent. Erfurt was our last stop on a road trip to see many old architectural gems in Germany.Unfortunately many of Erfurt's finest buildings have been defaced by graffiti.The best gem of all was our vacation apartment.”
