“Old town location, next to atmospheric and authentic Christmas market, but very quiet. Large comfortable room, very helpful staff. The thin waitress with short blond hair was a real character, constantly joking and connected very well with the restaurant customers! Served excellent and generous German specialities for a reasonable price. Nice touch for the hotel and restaurant owner to come and say hello, whilst we were enjoying our meal. Overall, a wonderful place in a wonderful black forest small town!”

“Wow! This was the best apartment we've stayed in, by far. We had the 1st-floor apartment in this chalet-style house located up a quiet valley. “Very clean and tidy, very friendly and helpful host (whose family sells excellent berries at the market on Saturday) and the apartment is furnished with a lot of small conveniences missing from many others. Even a little bottle of olive oil and a good kitchen knife. Beautiful views of the village and surrounds, and an excellent location nearby to shops and restaurants. We will definitely stay again when we come back to Gengenbach.”
