“The most gorgeous village I have ever seen. Yummy warm croissants at 9am from the bakery. Friendly people. Spectacular scenery, can see the Alps and the sea from the same spot. Could not forget our wonderful host Cecile who was so helpful on check in, and who provided us with milk, yoghurt, water, tea and coffee all there when we arrived. “I recently stayed at Le Mas des Gardettes for three nights and I can highly recommend this accommodation for several reasons. Certainly having access to kitchen facilities in my own unit cut back significantly on my living expenses while in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. It is extremely handy to the highly touted Fondation Maeght, no doubt a major reason for visiting the area, as it’s only about an eight-minute walk. And finally, it was a real pleasure meeting the proprietor of the facility as Anna is highly knowledgeable about fine art and she was more than willing to share her expertise in this area. She too was very hospitable and generous with her time when I encountered a couple of difficulties during my visit. I arrived without a car and with a suitcase with no longer functioning wheels. Anna immediately offered to take me to a nearby town’s shopping plaza to shop for a new suitcase. And on the night before my departure, I learned that there no longer was an afternoon bus that I originally had planned to catch and ordering an early morning taxi would be difficult to obtain. Anna once again came to the rescue and sacrificed some shut-eye the following morning to take me to the town’s bus terminal. Needless to say, Anna’s hospitality was beyond what one could expect and was very much appreciated.”

“Lovely, clean, centrally located bed and breakfast unit. Great staff who are extremely helpful and hard working. Jerome is the cook for the restaurant and manages the booking of the room as well. Sandy is the assistant who waits tables and provides water or extra coffee for the unit should you need some extra. The unit consists of a bedroom and a sitting room where you can make coffee in the morning with the Nespresso machine. Coffee pods are provided by the management along with milk. We found this extremely helpful as we are early risers and need coffee at 6:30 am. Small window by the bed overlooks the entire valley and the sunrise is magnificent. We had breakfast one morning on the patio overlooking the fountain which is peaceful. Sandy is extremely sweet and friendly and thankfully told us the night before about a traffic protest that was planned for Saturday morning when we were scheduled to depart for home. We luckily avoided the protest by leaving the unit by 6 am. We rolled our bags down hill (luckily it was down) Rue Grande all the way to our car and made it to the airport in Nice in less than 30 minutes! Jerome is an excellent chef so we had dinner one evening on site; we had pasta dishes of sautéed salmon and chicken with pesto and they were delicious. The restaurant is charming and peaceful.”

“This beautiful property is cared-for, owned and operated by a wonderful person, Veronique. The apartment on the third floor exceeded expectations . Tastefully decorated, the apartment is large, has a full service kitchen with all necessary appliances, pots pans etc. and even a clothes washing machine. Even small details have been attended to. The location is perfect, close to the best of Aix-en-Provence, yet a short block away from the bustling main avenue. The daily fresh market will provide you with anything that you can imagine if you are a culinary nut as am I. Ask for help if you need it to get luggage up the steps, they are wonderful. We were lucky to meet Clara who gave us a superb welcome and helped us park our car close by. No need to leave after you park. Spend three days here at least!
