“This chambres d'hote was quite wonderful. We received a very warm welcome from the lady who runs it. Our room was a generous size and breakfast was excellent with home-made jam and good coffee to keep the baguettes company. Nothing seemed too much trouble for madam - she was so great, incuding washing our smelly cycling clothes. The position is brilliant, close to the beautiful railway viaduct after which it is named. The railway has long since gone, but the viaduct acts as a cycle track and provides a short cut to the walk up the hill to the wonderful and very pretty town of Sancerre. We spent two nights at the chambre d'hote and enjoyed Sancerre's famous white wine (the red is good too) sitting in a sun-lit square in the town. What's not to like?”
